Ti or SS mufflers?

Postby Maj3sticCr0w » Wed Jun 22, 2011 12:40 pm

Ive decided to get the K2 Gear Neo Dual Spec cat back system but im not sure what mufflers/tips to get. At the moment Im leaning towards the quad Ti tips with the heat treatment to get the blue burnt finish effect. I have heard pros and cons for both (Price difference, less weight, more noise etc) just would like to hear what you think?

Go the burnt Ti tips... They look horn.

Btw, I could be mistaken, but the only difference you're talking about is in the tips which would not effect the sound at all.

Wouldnt affect weight either...well not noticeably.

But +1 for burnt titanium. What colour is your car?

Its an 08 TB STI pearl white wagon, 5AT.

Anyone know what performance gains I could expect from this? (Will be in conjunction with a Phat DP and tune)

You would do well to ask some people who own the K2 mufflers about sound, apparently it's not loud enough for some. Not much more than the Sti mufflers apparently.

^^^

They aren't overly loud, but they still have a fantastic note... Ask Jim Boy (Arith) he'll be able to confirm as he is one of the few that have had K2 Gear exhaust systems.

In regards to performance gain, most of it is going to be coming from the Phat Dump & the re-tune... With those parts & the tune, I would expect to get around 165kw ATW's depending on the transmission & how happy the dyno reads etc.
