Ahh nice. My mates done that. Sounds very good. I've got straight from my cats, so no reso or mufflers. Sounds unreal ;)

I tried mine without rear mufflers and I love the sound, but as I didn't want the droning I had small hot dog type resonators fitted with nice stainless steel tips so it doesn't look much different to standard but sounds really good. It cost just under $400. I can't see the point in spending so much money just for quad tips. I then had it tuned and it gets about another 10kW atw.

Think I might pull the rear mufflers off and check the sound. If I'm happy I'll probably go with the straight pipe also.

I'm thinking straight pipes too or maybe a little hot dog in place of the big cans at the rear if it gets a bit drony.

I'd be interested in our feedback.

Could you also let us know what it costs. It shouldn't be too hard or expensive to get two sections made up from the 2 bolt flange at the back axle to the bumper including the supports. You could then put on a couple of one into two chrome tips to finish it off.

Wow. That's a great price. I checked today with an exhaust place. $140 each side ($280) for custom pipe on flange, no tips, centre resonator not touched... Looks like I'll have to shop around. Want to put the stock cans in the shed to bring back to stock if needed. Thanks for the info I'll check the videos.

Popped in to our local exhaust place. $100 to do up pipes with flanges, chrome tips extra.
He had a really nice tip too, tapered both horizontally and vertically. Looked great in the bumper cut-outs. $120 for a pair though, assuming he could get left and right versions.

Been driving around with the rears off. Maybe a touch too noisy I think. Although having it exhausting under the car may be making it sound louder.
I use the same effect with my phone. Its speaker is just off the desk when the phone is put down and is louder then compared to when the phone is picked up.

For $100 it might be worth a crack. I can always have cans added back in using the new pipe.

Thanks. Yep, looks like a good price. You may be correct, at the flange the pipe faces up into the floor of the car which may make it louder.

Perhaps a little hot dog stuyle straight through at the tail may be the way to go with some tips like these $44 posted on eBay.

Forgot to say that the ones I saw today we're oval. I think I preferred them over twins because they followed the curve of the bumper so nicely it was as if they were a stock item.
Something like this http://www.modbargains.com/images/Products/Supersprint/Audi/Supersprint%20Oval%20Tip.jpg

Could maybe use the standard tips if they come off the mufflers OK and pipe diameter is right. Would save $

There is a very very slight difference in tone I noticed when I put mine on. I like them. If your really after a change in sound tho I would suggest TCP quads
