That's a rip off for STI quads, they sell from members on here for around the $600 mark

Also bearing in mind they are used and may be corroded inside...

Well, that's a "Buy it now" jacked up price for the impatient.
Pretty sure if bid normally, the price would end up around $600 mark anyway and pass the reserve.

Anyway, still on my hunt for a set of STI quads for wagon.

I got a couple of mufflers put on my 3.0RB Auto, they sound great but i notice a backflow type sound when the gears change under high acceleration.

Could it be breathing too much?

The system other than the mufflers are stock.

What could I do to prevent it?

Any suggestions on wether or not to keep the resonator or remove it?

It may be normal. When the throttle is closed, especially at higher revs the engine is starved of oxygen so unburnt fuel gets out the exhaust. When it hits the air it burns, that's why V8 Supercars have big flames out the exhaust on overun.

I think you may be able to get it tuned out. Some car EC's will kill the injectors on overun and some will continue to drip feed the engine.

Can anyone confirm that there should be no CEL for modifying cat back? Ie if a new centre and y pipe was installed or a 3rd cat delete...

that's correct, if your standard cats and o2 sensors remain in their stock locations, they're fine.

my car also pops between changes on high throttle applications
it's a stupid emissions thing whereby the injectors keep pumping in fuel even with the throttle closed.

older models would completely shut off the injectors over 1500 rpm and 0% throttle (saves fuel but creates nasty emissions)

So in theory, if I was to get the y pipe after cats cut out and replaced with a twin inlet twin outlet muffler and ran that to a set of ultrex quads I won't need a tune? Won't touch headers or cats until I do sc kit.....

May throw a P0420 CEL code but one of the Perth guys may be willing to turn it off for you :)

Do you think a 2.25" h6 xforce center and y pipe will handle a sc kit or will I need to go custom anyway? Or will a 3" custom center be needed. And if so can I run the 3" centre without the sc for a year or so.... Sorry bout the questions but I want to hopefully do it once

2.25" for NA, then find a 2nd hand 3" GT Y pipe when the blower goes on :)
