Exhaust modifications

Advice needed

Postby DLBSPC » Fri Mar 11, 2011 6:49 pm

G'day guys, im just wanting to know.

I have an 06 LIB B SPEC wagon with a stock exhaust.

If I replace it with a standard "tuned by STI" exhaust will it be better/ louder.

Im looking to unleash the burble of the 2.5 without sounding like a wanker from 3 miles.

Cheers.

Unless your car is an 06 build 07, you won't be getting any boxer burble.

MY06 has even length headers therefore no boxer burble
MY07 has uneven headers and boxer burble

A tuned by sti exhaust is little more than different mufflers and if you want a decent exhaust you'll need to get something aftermarket. Japanese is usually best and a full turbo exhaust and tune will change your car. I hear phat gt (forumparts@gmail.com) has some nice fujitsubo cat back exhausts, he also sells dump pipes he makes himself.

Thequad tip exhausts are marginally louder than stock. Not by a lot.
