You are all on the money :).
I'm just hoping no one paid even close to RRP on them. I can get them for people for the same pricing as TCP's.

If you where to WOT all day everyday with them closed you find that they start squeaking as they open and close. (Carbon Build Up) Mine are closed 80% of they time. I only open mine when im running my high boost setting.
They do their job Well. Only this I would change is the design of them.

They are designed to be open 90% of the time and closed 10%. This is why they don't sound that great when closed. I think they would sell more if they where designed the other way. To sound good when closed then bark when open.

Btw, how much are they RRP ? I got these free from Xforce because they needed the mould for the Gen V and they had my car for a few days. Joe and Dean are awesome at Xforce :)

anywhere from $500-$800 per muffler is RRP. depends alot as you can get them without tips etc for center pipe applications. :) cops dont go looking at your center pipe.

@ t.renshaw34 : can you recommend a setup? E.g.: Varex center vs. Varex rears...

My current set up is...
HKS dump with 100 cell super high flow cat (tripple heat shield)
X force center and Y (14" resonator)
Varex mufflers with 2.5" inlet and custom 2.5" quad tips.

This is a great bang for buck set up if you put the phat dump($900) in over the HKS dump ($2,000). This is great if your wanting a varex muffler set up but without breaking the bank.

I want to play around with my exhaust set up and change it to something like...
HKS dump with 100 cell super high flow cat (tripple heat shield)
X force center and Y with 3" varex and 14" resonator on center pipe.
Insert a nice pair of low back pressure quad tip mufflers here.

I think this would be a better way to run a varex muffler if you where worried about cop trouble.

If you are mr $$$ and price isnt an issue...
HKS dump with 100 cell super high flow cat (tripple heat shield)
K2 Gear center and Y dual system with individual resonators and varex mufflers
Insert muffler of choice here

This would be a very low noise system and sound great when opened up. Long term... Im hoping to have this set up custom done by my exhaust shop.

Hi all,

I have a LIberty GT MY10 and had an install of the Xforce Varex catback system. Im loving it and my wife still does not know that I have it hehe.
I recently visited tunehouse for some advice and upgrades and they told me that the xforce damages the engine in the longrun.
Can anyone confirm if this is true or is this another scare tactic like my best friends at MRT use

MRT quote that you can damage your engine by putting on an aftermarket exhaust and then not tuning your ECU to match it.
Your engine justs runs really rich with the exhaust only. click on this link from MRT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6R1XFFQY3s

I personally woudn't get your GT tuned at MRT with an ECU tek system. They charge between $1,500 - $2,000 for the install and road tune only (extra again for a dyno tune).
Take your GT up to MSR and get it dyno tuned properly for about $900 http://www.msengineering.com.au/

+1 Take your GT up to MSR and get it dyno tuned properly for about $900.

ecutek type 1 and 2 are worth $600 and $800 tops. It is litterly a file they copy from their computer onto your ECU. "All done for you sir, $1500/$2000 please."
GET FUCKED!!!

but ecutek type 3 and 4... they are worth the money. my Type 3 was about 4-6 hours on the dyno. road test...logging... back on the dyno... road testing... logging.... back on the dyno etc.

Im not running ecutek anymore as PHAT wanted his tuner to tune it. Wasnt going to say no when I got told how much dyno time was spent for the little $$$ i had to cough up.

good info. Take is to a trusted. well know tuner. Hamish how was your Willall tune? I know Tristian went there to but havent had a chance to ask either of you about it. I hear great things about them but have never been there myself.

Full marks for willall, Martin knows EJ25s inside out. Really impressed with the 'conservative' tune they did for me on Friday. You need to at least meet the guy (and see some of the cars he has laying around). Sounds like noone can equal phat, but he would have to be adelaides own close second...

Slightly off topic sorry.

I modified my 3.5 inch Varex so it opens under boost. Its quiet around town and barks loudly when I stomp on the accelerator. It took a while to get the spring tension right but it works quite well.

Nice efforts on the custom fab :). I was playing with a porche gt2 on Monday and it had actuators on each muffler to open butterfly valves. I was quite surprised and confused as to how that is legal?
