Is it possible to obtain a WRX sounding exhaust?

Exhaust modifications

I don't think it's impossible to go to an unequal TS setup, I wouldn't even say it's really expensive either. The other option getting rid of the TS system all together, as it gives you maybe 300rpm of less boost threshold.

If you go down the modified TS route the problem is that as the pulses would be joining for the first time in the dump, rather than the uppipe, so it not ever sound the same, but could be close. If it were me I'd be retuning it afterwards, as I'd also do the post turbo exhaust at the same time, so you'd end up with better performance, rather than less, but only if you do the lot, and retune.

You would do it by modifying a set of Kando 4>1 headers and mix the pairs the wrong (less efficient) way, so you had the left hand bank and the right hand bank going through each side of the scroll of the turbo. This is technically less efficient due to the firing order as you would get two pulses from one side, then two from the other.

Swapping an entire header setup from a WRX, turbo (dunno bout sump) and getting a TCP 07 lib exhaust would work also.

Well, I have a 2.0T and it has the burble, but it also has a set of STI headders to suit a VF34. One must ask the question, do you really want the police attention that the WRX sound brings? My car isn't loud as old mate Tbear knows how to screw (weld) a good exhaust together, it sounds quite nice, but I will be going back to a set of equal length aftermarket headders at some stage in the future.
By the way, the twinscroll jobbies with an aftermarket exhaust sound great.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

WRX Burble = UEL headers or OEM Headers
No WRX Burble = EL Header or Twin Scroll

Exhaust doenst matter what u have

Liberty WRX Burble = Standard Single Scroll Turbo with UEL Headers and or Exhaust
Liberty NO WRX Burble = Twin Scroll Set up with TS Headers OR Single Scroll Turbo with EL Headers. REGARDLESS OF WHAT EXHAUST YOU HAVE

so in other words, dont use Twin Scroll or EL Headers and u can get the rumble

Be interested what you will do Tome. Im trying for the exact same thing:

I just got my car back from the repairer after having an accident and found i now have WRX rumble!! took it straight back they reckon there's something stuck/loose in the exhaust! it will be fixed but now im addicted to the sound and want it to be like that... intentionally though. sounds awesome when just cruising even at low speeds.

Im thinking Fujitsubo Legalis Super R CAT back but now not sure what to do about the 'headers". Im going to get a Phat Dump Pipe too, so to get this sound do i need to make the headers uneven? how or what do i need to do/buy to have that?

Cheers

94 should be a gen2.
Just a catback you will get some boxer rumbler.
It's a 2.2L.
You can do a engine transfer from a turbo model but you shouldn't just add a turbo to yours. Doesn't work like that.

UEL HEADERS and a non stock muffler, twin tip is the best, sounds legit like a wrx!
1995 GEN2 GX Liberty, TEAM WHITE, Twin Tip Muffler, UEL Stainless Steel Extractors, 16'' WRX Wheels, MOMO Shift Knob, JVC Headunit with 6'' KICKER 2 ways, 6X9'' Cerwin Vega 3 ways in boot, 12'' JVC 1200W Competition SUB in boot. P Plater

soon to have JDM PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS, along with a RX front bumper and foglights both running 6000K HID

Your looking for 5x100,

17's fit well for the gen2's as they are a smaller shape. 18's would suit and looks massive but 19's would be stupid.

Look out for some wrx wheels to put on

You have no tyres in your avatar...

Also would probably need to roll your guards, get coilovers to get wheels that big into your car.

Performance wise you can't do anything worth while to a NA 2.2L, maybe equal length headers will gain a couple of kw but then loose the boxer rumble. aftermarket un-equal headers you go a step backwards in performance but get a deep boxer note.

If u have the Twin Scroll Turbo set up not only do u need to change headers but also the turbo OR get a custom up pipe made with Custom Flange to a set of UEL Hedaers;)

No worries on the wheels mate;)

I have purchased the Invidia Cat Back Exhaust System with quad tip mufflers from this forum which will be installed this weekend.

Now the question is, I am looking at getting the X-Force Dump Pipe (have been told it is the same as the WRX ones, can anyone confirm) and also would this be the whole exhaust system done? or is there anything else I will need to have changed apart from headers?
