Removing mufflers

Postby Bezzza » Tue Oct 16, 2012 5:26 pm

Hi guys after some advice from those in the know!

Going to drop my mufflers off on the weekend to give them a good polish.
Wanting to know if there is any gaskets I need to replace when doing so?

Alternatively is it easier to just get them off the hangers without removing mufflers?

There are graphite gaskets, but unless you peel them off they'll stay on one side and are reusable anyway.
Easiest way I've found is undo the 2 bolts on each side, push towards the rear wheels to drop off the front hanger, then pull back towards the back of the car to remove off the other hanger

The gaskets normally stay intake to one side. Just put some maniseal on it before re installing to prevent leakage
