Noob exhaust question

Postby LBR37Y » Mon Jul 02, 2012 6:17 pm

I know this is a noob question but I wanna know how much a 3" xforce stainless full exhaust from the turbo back

This will be fitted on a stock my08 2.5T GTB LIBERTY

What I want to know is the pros n cons (performance wise) of this kit, I have chosen a 3" full exhaust as I will be doing other mods like changing out the turbo etc so I assumed with all those mods it will need a good breathing pipe

And forgot to add I will be tuning the car 2weeks after the fitting by MSR (NSW)
Mods on the car already
3" Xforce TBE, Iridum spark plugs, MSR Tune (191KWatw), Alpine Dub Din HU with inbuilt sat nav & bluetooth etc, top of the line memphis speakers including a memphis mojo amp to run it all, Optima Yellow top battery to juice it, TMIC from Jacks-GTB, bigger fuel pump also from Jacks-GTB, Spec.B Badge, Rota Gravels, Brembo brakes, 5% tint all round, currently working on an engine rebuild, NEW STI Shrt Block, forged pistons, bigger head studs and all work done by MSR, Cobb Intake

Mods to come
Un= Headers, Blouche Turbo, MSR Tune, Ohlin Coilys, Whiteline suspension, detail with Opticoat
TBC...

I have the Xforce 3" mid section into the 2"5 Y, and TCP quad tip mufflers (going to do the dump after tax money and fit the VF52 in the shed) the system gives a nice note a bit droney around town due to my car being Auto, but out on the highway i don't notice it at all.

Thanks guys, I should of stated I have the MT

I'm not to worried about the sound to much..

But I'm looking for more performance information, like I personally think that such a big exhaust on a stock car it will lose some of its back pressure, so would it act like a dog down low but up high would go alright or??

Im sure mine would be different being a auto, but just with the cat back system and a few weeks letting the ecu adjust i have noted a slight increase in torque and mid range power, i wont benefit much until after a tune but that's the same with any car i suppose.

Got my Xforce cat back system for about $800 from a local exhaust shop and fitted it myself along with the Phat dump pipe. I honestly think the car could be louder (although my family disagree) and it's far quieter than a WRX with a canon. Only complaint is there is no flex between the Phat DP and the Xforce mid section (might have to cut one bit and put in a flex one day).

Currently making 211kw atw @15psi with this exhaust with Perrin TMIC, bigger fuel pump, inlet pipe, CAI and an awesome open tune. Loud is all about perspective :)
I own a Liberty honest!

2008 Liberty GT tuned by STI #43 obs black sedan - 211Kw atw - WSID 13.136 @ 106mph 1.825 60ft - Wakefield 1:13.518
2005 Liberty 2.5i silver wagon - The daily "Beater" - a bit slower
