Gt TBSTi Exhaust

Postby Mikey » Sun Oct 02, 2011 10:00 pm

Hey guys, got a 07 GT TBSTi and just wondering if I need to get a re-tune as soon as I fit a stainless turbo back exhaust? I've talked to a few experts and some said yes and others said no cause the ecu will reprogram itself within a week or so. What has everyone else done? Your advice would help a lot. Cheers

You dont need a retune to drive around with it, but to make the most of the modification, a retune is definitely needed. Even on a stock car the retune is worth it, even more so with a free flowing system.

Cheers Mark, yeah I got told by someone about boost spiking but thats really only a WRX issue. Now just got to find the right sounding exhaust for me and go talk to Chiptalk to get a tune. It's a bit hard where I am cause we're 3 hours from bris and about 4 hours from the coast. CES Racing said about $3200 for a full custom made stainless system but problem is wont know how it sounds till they are finished.

Go the TCP turbo back system or get a Phat dump and the TCP cat back.

Theres vids of the sound here and its full stainless and a alot cheaper than $3200. ;)

Yeah the TCP sounds really good. I might try and see if I can come to bris and hear a liberty with the full system on in person. And the price is really good, I see from his posts. Sweet :D Think I've made my mind up. Just need to hear it to be sure :D

I believe TCP is currently out of stock and there's a couple month wait on new stock.
