The temperature of the run was way below 17C.

Your gear is 2nd gear. THe above is 3rd!

It really makes no diff you know. You start with a stock Dyno and look for the gains over that.

For the auto, I run the dyno against speed, which produces a lover value than rpm. To me really, I am not a dyno person. Once the area under the curve expands, thats all I care about.

Also dyno runs on a dyno is different to a road dyno. The best Dyno would be to GPS the car.

No need to delete man. I have nothing to hide. Its a learning experience to all.

You wanna hear a joke.

My drag STI RA in Trinidad dyno on the land based dyno doing around 290-300whp. My software dyno depends on the temperature, goes from 320whp to 350+whp.

So there have some cars who dyno'ed at 350+whp on this dyno. So their took the drag car out and run it against the 350+whp cars and all got beaten and wanna know where it all went wrong !!!!!!

v3 Stats

Postby west_minist » Sun Jul 04, 2010 10:17 am

V3 is a great drive and vastly improved over stock. All of the above 3rd gear pulls are over the same stretch of road which does have a slight incline, same time, same type of petrol and roughly same temperature,. The 2 x V3 pulls were in opposite directions, so I'm assuming a flat run would be somewhere in between the 2 graphs. The 152kw V3 run was in the same direction as the stock 143kW run, so there is a 9kW improvement for this rom version.

Regardless of the kW, improved drivability of the car was my main focus and this is now fantastic! :D

Your Dyno sheet said Gear 2. So this is Gear 2 of the car tuned at version 4 of the rom

It's great to hear someone talking about real-world drivability rather than "numbers". Dyno results are just that, numbers, that really don't mean anything to anyone other than those who want to brag at the pub. Anyone can pull big numbers given the money but 90% of the time the car is a pig to drive and never reliable. For most of the crew here real world drivability is more important and that's where the Liberty is a great platform in both turbo and NA form. The 3.0 is an awesome engine when tuned, even just the infamous V-tune made a difference, and what you are doing Edward seems to be producing results as well. Keep up the good work mate.

i wasnt bragging about dyno numbers.. im quite happy to show what a tune can do the H6 t hence ive showed my before and after runs..

i just thought the numbers Edward threw up were high and I queried the stock numbers.

i have high respect for his tuning ability..and that he shares his knowledge with us all

for the record our Liberty is a great car to drive especially after being tuned.

But as I stated, the Stock Dyno was 3rd Gear. Not 2nd Gear in your case. Also the Dyno was done at 16C. Thats pretty cold. Also not all 3R's the same. After tuning them, the stock power is never consistent. But I understand your comments and I appreciate them. Again, you don't need to delete your posting.

Please state clearly your running Dyno gear and temperature of the Dyno room.

Thank you. Because of my friend here having one, I love the engine performance, although lacking in really good power. But it was a compromise. Honda power meant lost of low end tq.

I am not sure what the v-tune did, but I would not be surprise if it was a tuned + DBW tuning too. Either way, I tune many maps beside DBW, Fuel and Ign :)

I wish I could tune my 2R.Still no Hydra EMS in it yet. My baby shift my interest. She is a wonderful 4months now :) for those who care :)

i would have thought 3rd gear runs to be less then 2nd gear runs..in relation to atw kws ??

anyway dyno room temp was 20 degrees Celsius and 99% air density what ever that means.

Edward what fuel you tune on 95 or 98 ron... lots of people are using E85 ethanol based over here now and getting good results..

congrats...with the baby as well.. are you getting sleep
