Tuning the 2.0/2.5 GT - Xtreme Racing Tuning

Hello everyone:

I have work on a number of these models, especially the Auto version and just love the performance of the car for what it is. Obviously having a little bigger turbo would be great, but never the less, its a beautiful car.

I been told recently that some tuners just basically tune it basic, charging a lot of money (in my opinion) and you are getting less.

One such model I tuned is located here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7206
To see the customer feedback:- http://www.xtremeracingtuning.com/forum ... f=48&t=338

You tuner should be able and should be doing the following:
  1. Tune effectively ECO and normal mods for fuel and Ignition
  2. Tune CL/OL
  3. Tune AVCS extensively
  4. Turbo Dynamics
  5. FLKC and FKC functions
  6. Ignition learning capabilities
  7. Boost throttle relationships
  8. DBW
  9. Other changes if needed like slight increase in idle and so forth

When finish, you should have a car that perform better under cruising and even better in Normal mode. If you cannot feel this, well I do not know what to say.

So please contact us if you are interested in having you 2.0GT tuned.

I guess the question begs then, what is the cost for a tune for an MY04 GT (EJ20T) AT?

**EDIT**
Sorry, just looked at your website. So for the following (V2)

Starting Tuned/PT Maps v1 & v2 = $175-$225
• This for the customer who requiring a safe tune, including the response of the car gear changes and general driveability. Less thottle need for moving
• No added Boost (v1)
• 0.5-1psi added Boost (v2)
• Adjust fuel and ignition maps for reduce pinging/knocking for a stable IAM and more smooth even power.
• Speed cut removal
• Wastegate Tuning (v2)
• Launch Control added, if supported
• Tuning process includes multiple tuning processes
• Logging and Software Dyno's

So in this tune do you not modify AVCS maps at all?

PT or gas tunes is just tuning for the gas. Its quick and what some customers need. Example, like a factory tuned. If you reviewed the site well, you will see the full cost.

You cost is determine by your mods and you needs. Stage 1 (15-16.5psi) or stage 2 (17.5-19psi). These pressures are in midrange. Due to the stock wastegate and TMIC, boost falls off adn turbo efficiency.

I was recommended to Edward by a friend of mine during a "car down" time, . I can laugh now but then I was nowhere near humored. I had opted to tune with a guy that clearly did not match up to his claims, nevertheless, Edward got me back up and running. And from there we kept in contact. Soon enough I was interested in original venture, tuning. I have to say, Edward is very knowledgeable, patient and professional. He has been able to share alot with me, and I am far from knowing nothing now as I was before, but still no where near to the teacher. I am very grateful for this information and knowledge, Well since we started tuning, I've never looked back. The car is TOTALLY different. My confidence in Edward has grown and is evident in the performance of my car and the grin on my face in WOT. I would easily recommend any enthusiast looking to tune on any level to Edward. Trust me, you're in great hands.

Excellent Tuning, Great Guy, Priceless advice = Satisfied Customer!

ScoobyTT wrote:So Edward sent me a new map last night, I am still grinning. Let me say 1st, the previous ROM worked quite well, so any improvements on this ROM to me (the driver) is very good. Now, the car's response is phenomenal, throttle response is INSTANT, torque is even more noticeable at low RPM. The 1st time I drove on this ROM I felt a little scared :o as the car literally felt like it was running away from me. She is very fast and very responsive, above 6000 RPM feels like it still has power. ROM still needs to be tweaked as I found a few rough spots here n there, but negligible and nothing for Edward to sort. The car runs through the RPM band faster, in 3rd I can go from a low 40km to up to 120km in very little time. I need a co-pilot now to log times, or maybe hit the tracks for time trials.

ScoobyTT wrote:So 2 quick updates:

DBW Tuning Experience - After Edward made changes, I noticed a sharper, more responsive throttle. a lot less effort required to engage power from the engine. WOT feeling at about 50-60% throttle. Took some getting used to, as she was more "sensitive" so to speak. It was a little awkward at first, but tuning forced me to get more in feel with the car, more intimate if I would say. Once I got used to it, it was good. It became easier to understand the car's expected reaction to my actions. Initially, I didn't quite understand what aspects of the Legacy were DBW, but I thought the ability to alter the throttle response with tuning was great, real interesting stuff. As usual, Edward's guidance was golden as I "relearned" my own car :D .

Power Loss - It started to get more noticeable about 2-3 weeks now. A considerable loss in power in high boost, car would make this skipping noise, sort of pulsing sound. Only @ WOT I would get this. Working with Edward, and at the height of my frustration  , everything seems to point to a leaking BOV. When the boost psi was reduced to 14, I would not get the issue, it only occurred if the PSI went beyond 14 or 14.5 or so. On my boost guage, this is equivalent to 1 Bar. So anything over 14.5 psi/1 Bar causes a problem. So I'll soon be going with an aftermarket BOV, hoping that is the problem, praying actually, .

So v37. The response of the car is back! Power n tq seem instant. At
WOT its still not what I rem it to be, but its the best its been in
months. The antilag is well, for the least, interesting. It makes me
have to drive her differently. During shifts, without gas she
backfires, so its almost like she needs a lil throttle, lol. This
however brings immediate power n tq as soon as I'm in the next gear.
Makes for high speed shifting fun n power! I still don't know what the
term antilag means, but I know how it feels, lol! I have not been this
excited driving my car in months. I guess she needs new plugs, and
I'll see what the leak tests come up with. Also need to get that wb
logging asap. Will give her a full service month end plugs and oil.

Hey guys,

I finally travelled to Trinidad to tune a MY05 STI RA using the Hydra and the Hydramist (Aquamist HSF5/6) and got to drive the Legacy 2.0 GT for the first time. She dyno'ed at 270wftlb with hp at 220whp. Need to do some work on it. We installed a new AVO Actuator. The car felt really nice on the 5MT. The tq on this model, compare to stock feels so good and you can really drift. I hope we can still do the VF37/36 upgrade. She is really a blast to drive on tight corners. Lol

I will post the software Dyno when I reach home. Its around 250wftlb.
