Edward, I had my H6 on a 4 wheel dyno today for a base measurement of my outputs before fitting the headers and I have a question to ask you? The throttle position maxed out at 80% for all three runs up to 7000rpm, is this normal? The dyno tech brought it to my attention and he had no idea why this happened, maybe it's a Subaru ECU set parameter that once max power has been delivered the throttle does not open any further. Hope you can answer this for me.

Rob.

Hello Rob:

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't get a notification on the thread.

Do you have SI-Drive?

No it's an 2005 model, so no SI-Drive.

Was there something preventing the accelerator from going all the way down?
Is it possible the car was tuned?

No nothing to stop it from hitting the plastic throttle stop in the firewall. And yes it has been tuned many years ago by a Subaru factory service tech who at the time was the only one here in Australia to be able to do it. Don't get me wrong it goes like a cut snake and I'm very happy with it's performance but was curious as to why the OBD data on the dyno showed 79% throttle position. The AFR are good (0.933 - 0.973) and it's torque and power readings are also good for an NA engine. I could send you the graphs if you want?

Rob. I found the plastic stop wasn't fully seated. I wouldn't have thought that 20% was involved, but it may have made a diff.

Below shows you the Raptor Header performance. The gains are good, but could have been better if the customer had better fuel to used. But on another note, the car begs for the Raptor SC.

Looking at the VE graph, one can see that the car from 3500-6700rpm has a flat response and this is also shown by the Dyno graph. She just pulls all the way. In addition, 5500rpm most likely is the sweet spot when falling back in shifting or holding the revs at that point.

On another note, if you had to stick twin turbos on these headers, the Raptor headers would be prefect for that massive pull to the redline. Tim has a wonderful product and I am glad XRT had a part in helping in the development of them.

The above graphs are of my car. Thanks Ed, you've made it another car to drive :) 8)

10% increase in power and torque is a nice little gain.

Little bit of a dig, but I'm new to subaru ownership.

Anyway, I've just bought an obd2 Bluetooth thingo and found I'm getting the same 79% throttle showing using Torque.

Was a reason ever found for this?
