The punchline was that he even tried to drag me :). I was not interested and didn't even try I'm not sure what made him think I would even had a go!

I just smiled as he stalled it up and launched at an insane pace as if it wasn't a huge 4WD but was a small hatchback.

Tommy: In those situations I just let the guy go it's not worth wearing out my clutch in what is a futile challenge. A newish Corolla also tried to drag me on Friday night. I guess it's just one of those weekends...

You gotta be careful as well you just never know when an (unmarked) cop is sitting around. Even if you were not a willing participant of the "drag race", if the cop is a prick you will get done for hooning.

haahha true that i just wanted to perve on the gtr =D and see what my dream car can do =). but yea now days in SA now we got toyota aurions as undercover cops as well the other day which i spotted out, pulling a car over. and their has been instances where cops dont pin u they actually drag u and provke u and once u go over the speed limit at the line they will take out the siren. a friend of my got dragged by a wrx with number plates "myrex" and 5secs later got pulled over, and the cop was the one who reved his engine and crap.

I saw a strange looking under cover commodo or a ford with those shinning wheels pulled someone over. Damn you never knew which car is cop car nowadays. My suggestion is just drive slowly.

A WV GTI or something tried to drag me the other day but I didn't bother.

Hey, at least they are using the cars properly & you get a front row seat to see how they go :D

My pet hate is when people have crazy cars like Ferrari's, Lamborgini's, etc & drive them around like the throttle is made of egg shells.

Ferrari are over priced. GTR 35 can beat them easy and cost much less. AMG are not that quick either right from 0-100. SO drag race I think Subaru still wins?

A GTR35 doesn't have the prestige cred of a Ferrari though :) Most people who buy a Ferrari do it to be seen, not because they drive the car to its limits.

The AMG63 was quick, I'd say 5 or 6 seconds to 100 which is fast for a 4WD.

Ok... Which AMG are we talking about here? C63 AMG...? ML63 AMG...?

The C63 is good for a 0-100 in under 5 seconds (About 4.7 I think) & the ML63 is just a touch over 5 seconds... Basically, unless you have a crazy Liberty like some of a members or an STI WRX... The 4x4 will wipe the floor with you... Pretty sure it's still classed as the fastest 4x4 on the planet - Although the X5M or new Cayenne may have taken that title.

Just looked up some pics (I don't know my Mercs well). It's the ML63, and yes it was FAST.

I wonder if my10 gt can beat ML64 amg. MY10 GT is around 5.6 secs. But to be honest I don't feel the my10gt is fast. I never actually try to time it. Can't find a road to do it.
