:( what a waste...

it really annoys me when people move into an area and then complain about something that has been there FOREVER!! (ie morons who've attempted to have lunar park shut down.. gee i didnt think when i moved next to a theme park it'd be noisey!!)

Are they really clearing it for new housing? And they wonder why people race on the street

Yes. New housing development. Sydney's expansion meant the land seemed a lot more valuable subdivided into half acre blocks than used as a racetrack.

Ohh the memories…  …. I found out the hard way on that track how my SS needed better brakes….. And that a solid billet strut bar is pointless when secured down use the oem strut bolts……

Btw Oran park was sold to developers around 3 years ago, the developers chose to keep the track open for strategically market reason……. Nothing to do with the track events, more so for the housing market.
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

Jesus Christ! they didn't muck around tearing the shit out of it, tenders for the pits etc was in Auto Action only a few weeks ago!!

I got hooked on Drag Racing there when that was Sydney's only track and it was only an 1/8 mile!!

The Moto-X track was a great place too...what a fxcken waste!!...

and they keep screaming about P-Interceptors killing themselves on the streets and keep selling off places for them to drive???

I read a story about the brothers who owned the surrounding land, they have become Billionaires over night with 3000+ blocks of land!!...fingers crossed they buy some land and start again???
I'm now on my 4th Liberty, I enjoy the pain they cause!! The 3.6l is in a world of its own.

It is a shame to see the old Oran Park in pieces... She will be missed by all.
