Calder Autokhana

Postby Ric » Thu May 16, 2013 11:28 pm

The MG car club had a competition event last Sunday.
It was meant to be an Autokhana at the Police Driver Training track at Attwood, but that got closed suddenly to do some urgent upgrades, so we had to move our event elsewhere at the last minute (well about 5-6 weeks ago actually).
We ended up booking the old Thunderdome track at Calder raceway, and setting up some patterns on the pit straight and part of the oval track.
You can see the courses here: http://www.mgcc.com.au/competition/2013 ... -final.pdf

I quite enjoyed the layout, and ended up coming third outright in my MGA. :D
I had a new GoPro camera running, so you can see how it looked from inside the car here: viewtopic.php?p=315885#p315885

(Bear in mind, there were no "sighting" or "practice" runs. You are seeing me driving these courses for the very first time. We ran out of time to have second runs on the first two courses, which was a shame, I'm sure I could have improved.)
