F1 Car to lap Bathurst

Hey guys,

Just a heads up if you didn't hear, Mclaren are doing a promotional stunt on Tuesday 22nd doing 10 laps around Mt Panorama in one of their old cars (2008 car i think).

starts at 11am, Jensen will do 5 laps, then lowndes will do 5 in a v8. then the swap for 5 laps in each others car.

Im chucking a sickie to go up, could miss the opportunity.

Jenson button wants to race at Bathurst this yr so if it happens I assume he'll pair up with whincup as lowndes and skaife will definitely be pairing again for the enduros

That won't happen. It's on the same weekend as Singapore.

A little late to the thread, but I was there at the main straight, was an awesome day, got to see the 2008 Mclaren when the cars were revving to 19,000 rpm although it probably was a little de-tuned for the track.

1:48 is a quick time around bathurst, and Jenson said you would be able to do a 1:40 with more laps and the correct setup.
