[VIC] Winton Fun Day 12th Dec

Fun Day @ Winton Raceway (near Benalla).

No Cams needed, no fire extinguisher, and just a helmet required. Low cost (was $25 last time)

Its not a serious track day and its not timed but you get alot of track time and its great fun. It alternates in solo and passenger sessions.

I'll be there in my SS with about 4 WRX's.

I'm sort of interested Andrew.

Does it require pre registering or can I just rock up on the day, and also how many cars would you expect to be there on the track at once?

thanks.

No pre-registering, just rock up.

Checked the letter, gates open at 8am, scrutineeting shortly after.

There would be more cars on the track than a usual club day, but that makes it more fun reckon! It is by no means a serious track day. Some of the best fun on a track i've had has been on these fun days. They recommend you drive at 80%.

My old man and a couple of the guys u met at Rob Roy will be there too.

Ahh too bad there's no way I will be able to wake up at 4:30am on that Sunday hehehe. Perhaps next time.

Also for $25.00 I imagine there would be a heap of cars? Even their open Fridays isn't that cheap??

Okay Andrew I'll have a good think about it.
Definitely going to need to get my car serviced before it happens though, so I'll try book that in...and maybe even book in to finally get PHAT's bushes installed.

Shame that I will have no chance keeping up with you and your dads mates though.....I'll have to get some performance mods done for the next one :D

I'd say if you want a better chance of keeping up with them then save your money for mods and spend it on driver training instead.

These days are not about who's the fastest, or who can keep up with who. Its about having some fun.

Calm down guys it was just a joke

Only thing I'm worried about is brake pads are probably getting low enough to change at the service....but I sort of wanted to go dixcel ones so maybe I'll have to hold off as I doubt PHAT could get them in time.

If i was only allowed 1 mod for a race track it would be brake pads.

Provided my pads have enough left on them I'll be able to use them up at the track so it should be fine, if I don't have enough on them I won't be taking it to the track

Stock pads won't last longer than one lap (if that) on the track whether they have lots of meat or not... I think Phat keeps Dixcels on hand.

Also get some decent brake fluid through your brakes as well.

RE050A do pretty well just let the pressures right down to like 30 or so (cold).
