I'd be keen but I don't think they support SLRs with 1kg+ lenses on exterior panels :)

You would need to get the optional double or tripple suction cup mounts which would support the weight and spread the load. Motor mag uses these for their car shots. I'm very impressed by quality and price.

Double Suction Mount Base
Item No. DSM1

Description
For mounting bulkier cameras, for greater stability, or for sharing the load on adjacent panels, they don't come much sturdier than this double suction mount base.
If you already own the CZ1 kit, then this base unit is all you'll need for those heavy-duty shoots - it's completely interchangeable with all components from the regular CamZilla suction mount.
Incredible double locking suction for use on any smooth, flat non-porous surface.

Includes rubber-coated aluminium ball-base as pictured.

Price
$49.00 each

I think Tangles was just trolling anyway ;)

These are a good piece of kit but I don't even have a decent digital camera which records video; I have a suction mount for my N97 and it does in-cabin video really well.

I'm actually wanting an extendable boom, like a 1m or 3m extension to do some nice rolling shots. Those ones are a bit too short for me... and I'm sure they won't handle the leverage of a 2kg camera at that distance ;)

At those lengths you'd be struggling to find anything stable enough short of an actual jib arm you'd have to mount in the car and poke through a window. I don't know of anything like that you could mount non-destructively to a car.

Hence the reason I haven't got a camera rig to do motion photos yet... ;) I don't trust them.

That's a great deal and would work really well for smaller cameras. Unfortunately Clarence and myself are after something a little more substantial since we are wanting to mount a few thousand dollars worth of camera and lens and long lengths and need 100% reliability and stability. As I said before not something you can mount non-destructively to the outside of a car.
