04-06 CF Eyelids

Hi everyone,

Most of you don't know me as I'm only quite new. I've been to a meet and a cruise and met a few of the guys on here and talk to a few others.
Like everyone, I love my car and love mods, big and small. I've been meaning to get eyelids a few months ago, but it seems that there are not many 04-06 eyelids for sale out there and where they do have them is out of stock and the places that are in stock are either too expensive or I simply just don't like the look of them.

After months of searching, I noticed someone that was selling them some-what of a cheap/competitive price..but I didn't like the style that they had offered (Zero/Sports Type 1 style). I asked them if they could make me an eyelid that comes down a bit further and sketches and examples went back and forth till I found this:

The ones to be made will look exactly as they do in this picture but it will be made of carbon fibre instead.

He said that he can make these only if I buy 10+ or get 10+ people interested in buying a pair of these. After I get 10 people interested then 50% deposit will have to be paid and from there it would be about 1.5-2months before we get our eyelids. This will be because he will have to make the moulds for the eyelids, make prototypes, test fit them, and then make the final product.

They will be about $130-140 USD (max of $165 AUD).. This price includes shipping right to your doorstep (or where ever you would like it shipped to in Australia).

I would really like a pair of these in carbon fibre to match my carbon fibre grill and make my car look a bit meaner.
Hopefully I get enough people interested.

Alan, I understand your eagerness to recruit 10 buyers, but did you really have to post a link to this post in the Cosmestic section (viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6408)? That section is normally reserved for people who have already done the mod and are posting up their results & pictures. It's not meant for soliciting group buyers.

You also posted a link to this in the For Sale section (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6407) as well. Again, it's not even an EOI, just pointing back at this post to solicit group buyers.

Gonna have to invoke Ric's judgement on this one because it's pretty close to spamming.

But I thought cosmetics is to talk about non-performance mods? People could have talked about it there.

Good concept but to be totally honest, for me for a similar price it is a greater visual effect to get a front STI-style lip. ($180.00 for the plastic one). Of course if the lip is already fitted then yeah sure, eyelids would help

Hmmm, I do like the lip, but I think I would be scraping it so bad if I got it.
The roads, drive ways, and speed bumps around where I live/drive are a bit harsh at times..and having a lip like that..I would cry every time it scraped.

I think the eyelids are a good visual effect, especially if you have a darker colour car. The CF would be more noticeable up close but further away, looking the at the headlights, it would give the car a meaner look

Check this out, it doesn't make the front that much lower at all, maybe 3/4"? Unless your ride is slammed which it is not, you just need to be mindful but no need to be super paranoid:

Check this out, it doesn't make the front that much lower at all, maybe 3/4"? Unless your ride is slammed which it is not, you just need to be mindful but no need to be super paranoid:

It's not so much about how much lower the car is, but more the distance it protrudes forwards. That's what really causes the scraping - the front of your car is now further away from the front axle.

I am very intrested but I want mine to be the same colour as my car not in C/F.
