Impakt (Daren) from Ecudatascan is offering an introductory price for a group buy (minimum 10 units) of these atm. I myself want one for my tuning/logging purposes are there any other interested parties here ?? I know there are several already on the Ricenet forums but they have strict rules about groupbuys there ........

Note I make nothing myself out of this apart from the group buy saving of course. I hope this is the right area for this and that the mods are cool with it as well if not please delete and punish me thrice 8)

Interested list:
  • Boxer - interested paid
  • DJC - interested paid
  • GTB Liberty paid
  • GTSPECB STI - interested, maybe two paid

Interested, but can it pull the Learning View style data like IAM value and knock correction etc?

good question, I'm pretty sure they have access to all the common SSMII data but model specific variations where the data is stored in a different addresses with each model ECU they don't.I will ask and report back. If it did have the capabilty to do that it would be quite impressive......I'd still carry a laptop though :P
later in the year they are adding support for Haltech, Autronic, Vi-Pec, Adaptronic, and Megasquirt.

Yes - well some parameters anyway. I was a beta tester for the product, and it currently reads 63 values from my MY07 GTB STi.

I'll type the list in tomorrow (unless Daren from ECUDataScan beats me to it :-) )

I've never seen one, but would be stunned if it didn't display IAM (which is useful). Will probably also output FBKC and FLKC data on the fly as well as (maybe) things like knock counter, but as raw data they are pretty useless.

The way Learning View displays that data is anything but useless. If it can do that, winner!

Given all I have read about the development of this unit (via RS Liberty.org) and the functions it offers I could be tempted if the eoi get's enough people to proceed.

Guys sorry for the stupid question, but what parameter can be view real time on this unit for my 08 gt tb sti; eg a/f, inlet temp, oil pressure..etc etc.

I am very interested based on what parameters it can read out

What are the external dimensions of the unit?

Pretty much everything you can see with one of the opensource or for that matter Deltadash software packages you'd need the Tactrix cable of course for these but not this unit. You can't see things such as oil pressure or Oil temperature as there is no factory sensor that does this. With some of them you have the option of adding external sensors to spare inputs which you can then setup. These are a bit more expensive of course.

Nope you'd need a temp sensor and an analog input to do this plus the software to manipulate the data into something useful. There are other options out there but they are several hundred dollars more plus the cost and then calibration of the sensors. I think this is where you'd use a laptop to be honest. You'd tune with that then view and log real time data with this. It just saves carrying a laptop round everywhere. If it does the GPS stuff as well then I'l be happy too

I dropped over to Darens place and borrowed a well used eval unit that will be available to look at on the dyno day. I think its fantastic value. The unit has inbuilt GPS and FM transmitter capability which apart from Mp3 playing (useless to later model owners of course) its good for audible alerts from your choice of pre chosen parameters to monitor
Things I like.
Fast response SSMII and CAN support and others mitsu/toyota etc etc
selectable display methods
units can be in metric of imperial - selectable per parameter ( that shits me with some of the looger progs its either all or nothing)
Diagnostics and ability to clear faults
GPS works really really well too with the right "cough" software. I think my N95 nav software will not be used much anymore

Today I was looking at my latest flash in the wifes cars ( that I drive 400% more than her) and I setup the display to monitor timing advance/learned timing/boost and load. At a glance I can see where it could be better. I can feel a weird transition and I can sort of work out where the problem area is really quickly. I can also log in CSV format.

The good thing is the feature set is constantly being updated

Definitely buying one to add to my collection of toys :P
(better get a dump pipe next I reckon I can sneak that one in without being noticed)
