Group Buy: Bracket for Pierburg 3-port Boost Solenoid

Postby cynner » Thu Jun 05, 2014 1:55 pm

For those who have the Pierburg 3-port Boost Solenoid, you've either made your own bracket or cable-tied it somewhere near the MAP sensor/stock boost solenoid.

I've made up a template to have a nice bracket made - it's made from 1.6mm stainless steel and shares the bolt that attaches the MAP sensor. It holds the the Pierburg solenoid in the area to the left of the alternator. See the photos below showing the position of the boost solenoid and the fitment of the bracket.

They do just touch the engine cover - this can be overcome by bending the bracket before fitting slightly beyond the 90º bend (so it angles downwards), or alternatively replacing the bolts supplied with flat-headed ones.

Providing I get 2 made at a time, they are $38 each including bolts shown in the photos and delivery Australia-wide. If I get a group of people together the costs are likely to be a little less.

Order 1
Alexiwoody (PAID & SENT)

Order 2 EOI:
BagBADbenny (PAID & SENT)
Kekotic (PAID & SENT)
Manaz (PAID & SENT)

Send me a PM and subscribe to this thread if you are interested in one.

Cheers,
Kim

Cool, let me know how it goes :) The last batch I sent out was made a tiny bit longer (Alexiwoody's suggestion) to make a bit more room for the vacuum lines under the bracket.

Are you fitting yours under the engine cover? (curious to if the bolts I included work under it)

Thanks, love it!
I used a little foam to insulate the bracket from the engine cover :)

Haha, cheers. Here's a desktop background version: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/717 ... yWagon.jpg :)

Benny - cool, good idea with the foam! I might give that a shot. Is the foam heat resistant? :)

Yep it can be induced to burn, should I seek an alternative, or is it a case of if the wee pieces of foam are exposed to flame I probably have bigger issues to deal with?
