A good tip for anyone trying to get rid of resonating in the panels.

Set your phone up through the aux input and download a tone generator app, then vary the frequency with the volume set moderately high. When you get a rattle, fix it, then move on :)

When I decrease that to 63-80 hertz I can hear reverberation through the door panel, surely additional Resomat will help eliminate that?

Have you done the outer skin as well? If not, I'd highly suggest starting over again and do the outer skin as well. The outer skins are seriously fkn thin and flex like a mofo on Subarus.
Are you certain the vibrations are emanating from the door panel (inner or outer skin) or the door trim?
However, I may have misunderstood a couple of previous posts now that I think about it. Did you mean you want to cover the tiny little holes at the top of the door panel or are you referring to the service holes???

More mass is always better... To a point. Moulded sheet metal won't require as much mass. What are the baffles your mids are mounted to made from? Is there a good sealed mount to the door panel?

Subarus are always a challenge to get perfect, it takes a lot of time, effort, and depending on the result you're after, money thrown at it to get it right.

I'm pretty sure it's either the inner or outer door skin.. The reverberations sound very tinny and horrible. I've probably done about 1/3 of the outer skin directly behind the speaker and up and out from there.. I've covered all the services holes as best I can considering the wires and such that run through them. What I was referring to was removing the little squares I have put on over the smaller holes and replacing it with larger pieces to not only cover the holes but also more of the inner skin.

I purchased my baffles from the US, they're the machine cut ones made of PVC I think it was. When installing the Resomat I removed the spacer and put it over the hole and surrounding metal then cut the centre out and folded it back on itself to the inside of the hole (if that makes sense). I then put the spacer back on using existing mounting holes. Should I remove those pieces and use a silicon to seal the spacer to the door instead?

Any more before / after review from those who've already done their install?

For example, when it comes to reducing road noise, does it filter out the higher pitched sounds like airflow or the lower pitched sounds like tire roar? do you find you need to crank the stereo volume up less when you hit freeway speeds?

The sooner the better.
I think I can borrow some metal shears from work too ;)

I'll check if Sam's has any accessible power, if anyone has a heat gun to bring.

Any recommendations for foam etc for wrapping loose cables?
Because my reverse camera wires & plugs are making noise and I'll fix it when doing the gate.

Report on the Resomat install:
I've noticed the sound of the stock HU is massively improved, I can still hear tyre and wind noise, but things are very serene on a smooth freeway.
It was effective at taking the edge off a noisy exhaust too... Thus:
I've asked the vendor to price mass loaded vinyl which is a sound blocker and would be appropriate for under carpet areas eg firewall, cabin, cargo area.
The GB is closed but you could express interest in another round right here.

Removing the guard liners to apply MLV or SD is something I'd be willing to experiment with.

And yes there are mass loaded paints to experiment with as well. Research?

Also keep in mind that there will come a point of diminishing returns due to factors such as frameless doors, sunroof, suspension mods, tyre and exhaust selection
