EOI - GB on Jaycar GPS Tracker

Postby iisshhyy » Sun Sep 02, 2012 12:58 pm

Hi all,

I'm looking into some additional vehicle security, stumbled across this from a post by Ric earlier in the year.
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... TID=1040#5

The units require a sim card to operate, after doing some research you can just get a data only sim card so you don't have to go into a $30 p/month pre paid plan. Something like - http://www.gprssim.com/index.php?route= ... ry&path=52

The website lists discounts for when purchasing multiple units. Would anyone else be interested in getting together for a group buy on this?

Cheers,
Tristan

Hi Mate,

You'd be better off finding someone with an Electus Distribution account, the wholesale price for the tracker is as follows:
Qty 1+$95.36
(GST not included)
Qty 3+ $89.40
Qty 5+ $80.46

Fair bit under RRP.

Cheers

Jeff

I'd be interested if there was one which doesn't require a sim (or more specifically, a monthly fee).

PS. If this requires data only, Kogan does sims for $9.99pm: https://www.koganmobile.com.au/plans/

Just thought I'd mention if you're going for GPS tracking it's only good if you have reception to track it with. I'd be looking for a Telstra SIM personally...

Maybe a jaycar employee could shine some light on this subject. I would be interested pending sim details.
