[EOI] Honeycomb Grille Mesh

Postby mynameisdaniel » Wed Jun 13, 2012 7:22 pm

So, going to be attempting a honeycomb mesh grille at some point in the future, looking at the mesh to use for it and that wire crap from supercheapauto isn't going to cut it. I found some mesh that is a very close match to the mesh the facelift B-Spec Liberty has around it's fog lights so I'm hoping to use some of that so the whole front end matches nicely. The problem is it's about $90 for a 0.4x1.2m piece. We can safely get 2 pieces from this, I haven't checked how close it'll be to getting 4 pieces as my rough measurements were that I required a 20x70cm piece to be safe.

Anyway, for those that aren't on Facebook there's a few people who are interested in this so it might be worthwhile getting a few sheets at once, cutting them up and sending them out. Just thought I'd see if anyone else was interested first.

Prices as follows, assuming two cuts from each sheet. And guessing postage from me (or whoever is most convenient) to anyone AUS wide for half a sheet is $10.

1 sheet: $90 landed + Postage to one person $10 = $50 PP
2 sheets: $150 landed + Postage to 3 people $30 = $45 PP
3 sheets: $210 landed + Postage to 5 people $50 = $43 PP

These prices are based on postage discounts alone from the seller. I also asked about discount on the product itself but he ignored that answer so I'm guessing that's a no go, but getting all sheets at the starting bid of 55USD will be organised. Prices are based on the current conversion rate also, so if that changes drastically they will need to be adjusted accordingly.

Time: Probably order at the end of June/early July, no hurry though. Once we have a bit of interest finalised we'll go from there.

Here is the link to the listing for the mesh if you want to see it. If you're interested in a piece, or believe we can get 4 cuts from each sheet state your interest below.

If you're interested in his other styles (smaller and squarer honeycomb, or diamond) and there's someone else interested then that shouldn't be hard to get a sheet of that sent out instead, although I want the matching stuff :D

Yeah I did look into those, unfortunately the mesh is different so it won't match the fog surrounds... Plus the sheet size is smaller so it'll be a very close fit to getting two cuts.

Sorry, yeah ordered it yesterday. Send a message to Bosc0 or SH03RB (I think that's their usernames) as they might be after some mesh too so you could split it with them.

you guys should check this out if you're keen, it's based in sydney and the prices are a bit more expensive but at least you know its quality stuff.

That's the same stuff Jake linked above. Slightly different size. Got it now though, very good stuff, slightly larger than the fog surrounds but the same shape (1mm wider and 1mm taller)

Haha I'm hoping to make it with the mesh recessed slightly. Not deep but not as flat as the genuine one. That and the $400+ would be better spent on performance/computer parts. Plus the genuine grille doesn't have matching mesh which annoys me 8)
