Hi Brandon,

What's the benefit of these caps over OEM.

Also is there any risk that running a higher pressure cap would place any additional strain on the cooling system or radiator end tanks etc.

Thanks

im getting one to replace the one on the radiator not the higher level reservoir near the turbo.

people use them on both to increase the pressure in the cooling system and this increases the boiling point of water so its less likely to over heat, but doing this puts extra pressure throughout your cooling system and risk rupture or leaks on all your old stock hoses, the shit hose clamps could blow off, your plastic end tanks on the radiator or reservoir could leak or crack, head gasket leaks can happen on older head gaskets or even cracked head etc

my caps not holding enough pressure so im buying 2 new ones just in case

also the surbru parts dude said they dont make the standard radiator one in a 137kpa which i was surprised as its a factory fitted item

Sorry if I needed one I wouldn't get a STI simply due to the extra pressure. To my thinking unless your cooling system is up to it and pressure tested as such best to stick with OEM on this one. A 30% pressure increase is enough to have me worried.
