The Mat Protector is a cool looking sheet of alloy or stainless steel that protects the carpet on the transmission tunnel.

I believe it's just wedged in there, you could definitely make one yourself in about 5 minutes, with the right materials and tools, but the dimples, polishing/brushing/anodizing might take a little longer. :P

I have a spare piece of lightweight checkerplate I might give to crusin just to see what happens, but just whilst I make up my mind about polished/brushed/anodized/black or silver

Plus: all orders for this GB will have receipts. :assassin:

I cant belive how many people are getting on this. :D so keen. nice work lads. After hearing someone is putting them in their outback... im woundering how close the fit would be for some of the later modle foz's. could be close enough for the foz owners to be keen...

Might be able to find you a little extra discount on shipping if you buy two sets :).

Each set contains 5 mats. Each foot well and one for the rear trans carpet.

Has anyone posted on other forums yet?

By reading the first post I believe they are slightly different sets for a gen 4 and 5.
Even the pics of each show it.
