cruisn wrote:Heres how to attach it. I used 1/4" washers, 10G x 20 washer head screws and 10G panel clips/speed nuts. All this is readily available at Bursons, Repco, AutoBarn, Supercheap.

You will only need 4 of each. Drill a pilot hole through the lip and bar with them pressed together. Push the speed nut over the front bar edge flat side down. Screw through the lip and the bar into the speed nut. Done.

Guys!

Happy to provide that Tim, if you're happy to sort out the other end.

1 items from MELBOURNE, 3000 to VILLAWOOD, 2163 weighing 1 kg $28.49 for a box 180x65x17cm (6 lips) That's $4.78each
Does that suit you guys?

1 items from MELBOURNE, 3000 to KUNDA PARK, 4556 weighing 1 kg $32.90 for a box 180x65x10cm (2 lips) That's $16.45each
I'm happy to try an alternative for you guys. Maybe like i'm suggesting for the single lips heading to other states, i can bubble wrap them together. They seem fairly sturdy.

For the other guys in the other states, how do you feel if i bubble wrap the lips as they are (wrapped in plastic) and send them as is?
Ditts: 1 items from MELBOURNE, 3000 to FORRESTFIELD, 6058 weighing 1 kg $25.14
If there is a better suited depot for you in WA, let me know.

paggaz: 1 items from MELBOURNE, 3000 to CANBERRA, 2600 weighing 1 kg $21.51

hobba: 1 items from MELBOURNE, 3000 to THEBARTON, 5031 weighing 1 kg $20.08
If there is a better suited depot for you in WA, let me know

If you're happy, let me know and i'll process the quotes and get the details emailed to you.

Thanks guys.

This one's the cheapest I could find http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Aluminium-Ba ... 1036wt_689

Perhaps a group buy for the badge?

Anyone know if these are the same dimensions of the OEM one?? Looks fairly similar.

Thanks.

Oh, i forgot to mention that Ken @ On The Run Motorsports thinks he may have one preface lip left. He said give him a buzz and he'll hook you up with the GB price.
Probably only fair that mark300 (NSW) gets to call dibs.

Ken also can get most new parts from Japan and is happy to deal with the club for more group buys. Nice bloke, get at him!

The lips are light as! But maybe 1kg is a little ambitious

If you're all happy with that, send the $ to the same acc as the lip. I'll organise the quote and tags, Mark will hopefully drop them at the depot.
Each lip will have the members username on it :)

PS. Had a crack at fitting the lip late last night.... with the car on the ground. Fun!

It isn't a perfect fit, but there are plenty of mounting locations to help get the lips to tighten up.

The lip comes with 4 tech screws, which i didn't plan on using. But did :P
I also purhcased some speed clips, screws and washers as per Cruisn's post. You will want to do the same.

I took a few snaps in the dark whilst installing and will see if any look good enough to post up.

How it ended up. Still needs some work on the corners and wheel arches.

It's a little shinier than i would have liked, i'll probably end up wrapping it in the same wrap as i'm doing the chrome parts of my standard grill.

Paid

So how does the lip fit without extra screws? Is it really loose and flappy?
I'm Serious btw

I guess that means that drilling is defInately required?

The centre section hangs down a little as the standard clips reused don't offer much support.
Screwing/drilling is a must, although only tiny holes big enough for screws to fit through in the bottom lip of the bumper. Easy as pie, particularly if the car is off the ground.

To be honest, i'm not sure how the genuine STI lip would fit without any screw support.
