thanks for the picture but the real issue in terms of fitment is the width of the diffuser at the ends where it curves upwards in this pic. What is the width of this part?

this might sound stupid, but is there anyway to maybe drop the muffler lower so the tips sit a bit lower?
if we can, then we may avoid the problem of the curved upper edge of the exhaust hole

just called hitech in sydney
they tell me that the full width of the tips, obviously from one side of one tip, to the extreme other side (of the other tip) is 130mm... hence should fit the diffuser - could anyone with hitechs confirm this??

if thats the case, i will be paying up as soon as tbear sends me a few more pics of the diffuser on a car

will go out and measure now..back in 10

edit: hitech is correct with 13cm or 130mm. There is then another 15-20mm space on the outside of the tip to the edge of the spec b rear bumper for the diffuser to fit into.

Ok... so that sounds much more promising!

Who is going to do the test fit?

heck yes I want one... although I think there may be some issues if I don't get the rear brembo's sorted first and maybe pay for this lip as well! ;)

what kind of heat resistance would the carbon fibre have?? i dont know much about carbon fibre as a material??

i guess thats a pretty close fit, but if the material should stnad up to some decent heat i reckon we wont have a problem...

Jimmy, are Phat's quads any bigger than these Hitechs??

Yes it may be a close fit, but it's not really the carbon weave itself that would get damaged by the heat, more the clear coating. It'd most likely melt onto the muffler tips, as seen with some ill fitting mufflers that melt the bumpers.

I'm sure its CF look plastic anyway (or at least weave matting coated in plastic resin) - real carbon fibre construction like that would be $$$$
