Still have the same twin walled tips? I like the photo of the tip you had

This is the diffusor I am looking at.

Is your exhaust quiet, big factor in my decision.

hi mate

system is quiet with a nice note when you put your foot down.

here is a short video on the system

and also that diffuser should not be a problem :)

Nice Audi, I mean Subaru.

As the person who has now been running this system for a few weeks now, I'd consider myself the best person to answer this, and yes. I'd consider it is. You can hear in the vid my voice explaining what cruising RPM is like. The camera picks up more road noise than engine noise. Personally I love the note.

It's not a direct comparison but my partner thinks this new TCP system was quieter than my old (bitsa) 3" system in my old turbo liberty, and it had a cat, resonator and the biggest straight through muffler I could find.

Farkq - it would want to be quieter - those specs add up to one damn noisy system,

The larger diameter muffs are a concern - most are saying that 2" even 1.75" are required to really shut up the WRX 'look at me' if the mufflers are straight through.

I am really keen to try these (hint hint) - but size of pipes is a concern.

I'm running Phat 3" DP, cat and large(long) resonator with stock muffs and it is quiet enough. I'd like to swap to straight thoughs for a little note and better flow, but dont want to be loud at all and definitely NO resonating drone

If these are quiet then great

Hmm, considering a turbo back TCP for my 05 GT 2.0L T Auto but want no drone and I'm only prepared to accept a tiny increase in cabin noise over stock.

Is this the system to get?

Seems like it but the test fit car is 2.5L so how will mine being 2.0L that affect the noise and drone situation?
Keen for more info, thanks Tony.

I'm not sure you understood my post. What is listed above is what I had in my old RS Liberty which was one of the quietest RSs in Brisbane. I took pride in that. The other thng that helped it is that it also had 2.5" from the rear diff back.

The TCP system is definitely quieter on the motorway, and there is no appreciable drone at all.

What are you wishing to achieve from the system? Making additional performance and having a quiet exhaust are not really mutually exclusive.
What sort of RPM do you sit on @ 100kph? The 6 speed sits just over 2000rpm so that will definitely help with keeping volumes lower.

Yep understood your post, my point being your new TCP system would want to be quieter than a system you outlined above. One Resonator and "the biggest straight through muffler I could find" would be a noisy system. The bigger the pipe diametre the louder she gets. The biggest you could find = 3.5-4"?

Now I see you actually reduced to 2.5" from the rear back which contradicts the "biggest I could find" description. Or are you talking Barrel size and not pipe dia? Even then barrel size will not neccesarily mean a certain dB. depends on packing and perforations etc Pipe size plays a far bigger part

2.5" is much more likely to be a quiet car as you well have pointed out

as I mentioned - many others have shut them up effectively by using much smaller diametre pipes on the rear muffs (2") without compromising flow to the point of losing HP.

I digress -proof is in the pudding so keen to test

^ you'd really need someone with a wagon to run it and see how the noise goes, and especially an auto. Sedans are naturally quieter in cabin due to the enclosed boot and seats acting as noise barriers. Need a guinea pig.

Now you're thinking along my line. "The biggest muffler I could find" had all to do with the size of the muffler body and nothing to do with the pipe size in this case. It was meant to signify that I went out of my way to quieten it as much as possible. Clearly I should've left specs out as it just confused things. You've spent too much time with ricey tools to think otherwise :D hehe. It seemed like the description I was giving you went against the point I was making due to your misinterpretation of my description.

Put really simply: I had a quiet system previously. This is quieter.

Now that we've got that sorted, Tony hurry up and get more in so others can add their own opinion :P

I have previously volunteered to be guinea pig, so I'll register my interest again.
Also I can have the exhaust picked up from anywhere and shipped to me through work too.

Tony 2.0L T 05 GT Wagon Auto.

I realise it will be a bit louder, and a louder deeper note is fine, a harsh tractor coming up the road sound is not acceptable.

If it's in this ball park, tbear just pm me where to have it collected from :)
and the $$$ damage too.

Hi Guys

Ok so here is the deal of the year!

If you pre order and pay in full for the TCP Full Stainless TBE the price will be $1599 (RRP is $1899 for the full system) + del

Please let me know if you are interested so I can get a list sorted,

Also these will be ready in about 2months times as I had to redesign the midpipe join and the rear mufflers to accomodate the wagon.

Thanks

I am very interested at the LCD display that shows some car infos in the video. What does it show? turbo boost and what else? does it show G force? Is it possible to make my My10 GT touch screen look like that too?
