WTB: 4 x 2nd hand 17" rims - DONE.
G'day;
* Don't mind gutter rash, marks etc (as long as the wheel is usable, not buckled etc!)
* No tyres needed (but can remove and return if desired)
* 17" - I'd like to keep same size as my OEM so I can swap tyres / rims if needed later
* Prefer OEM but not too fussy - I have an '07 but '05 onwards, all good.
* I'm in Sydney
I'm considering getting a second set of tyres for the wet and cold as I will be doing a lot of driving in the Snowies over the next few years (including regularly shuttling my folks between Thredbo - Khancoban) and want some tyres a bit less 'Performance Summer' for the 3 months or so over winter. A second set of rubber on chain friendly (ie scratchable!) rims is my current thinking*. RE050A are great in summer, but not so great in the cold.
How much am I prepared to pay? As little as possible of course!
But it depends I guess... I've watched a few sales on ebay and the prices are all over the place!
So if you have some lying around - get your people to contact my people and we'll see if we can clean out your garage...
* I know I can get by as is, but I am overly cautious in marginal conditions especially with passengers - I'm that guy with chains on trundling slowly past the the Rav4 that's upside down in a ditch.
