New to the forums and thinking my stock vf38 is on its way out.

2004 liberty gt - auto

Looking to replace the turbo with the same vf38 or maybe upgrade to a td04 if its not too much work.

Depends on if you’re willing to get tuned or not.

This wouldn’t apply to replacement with another vf38, or one with a replacement CHRA, eg eBay, Kinugawa or Mellet…

It might apply to upgrading to a td04hla (the bearing assy is somewhat more durable than the vf38).
