That's a fairly rare occurrence, any idea of the cause? Have you at least confirmed the diagnosis and or checked or cleaned the throttle body loom plug contacts?

Otherwise, check an official parts seller for part usage info.

From this site, https://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru__/CHA ... AA310.html which I found via googling the part number, I found this usage info.

Subaru Forester 2.5L TURBO 4AT XT 2011, 2012, 2013
Subaru Forester 2.5L TURBO 4AT XT Limited 2011, 2012, 2013
Subaru Forester 2.5L TURBO 4AT XT Touring Limited Plus 2011, 2012, 2013
Subaru Legacy 2.5L TURBO 6MT 4WD GT Limited Sedan 2010, 2011, 2012
Subaru Legacy 2.5L TURBO 6MT 4WD GT Premium Sedan 2010, 2011
Subaru WRX 2.5L TURBO 5MT 4WD S SEDAN 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
Subaru WRX 2.5L TURBO 5MT 4WD SEDAN 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
Subaru WRX 2.5L TURBO 5MT 4WD WAGON 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014

So those are the potential donor models/years...

Check eBay for second-hand availability and guide price...
https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_fro ... =2&_sop=15

Say $200 odd posted, use PayPal obviously if choosing to use eBay...

Then check your local (or interstate) wreckers to see if there are any matching cars/parts at a decent price.

I serviced the throttle body including slowely pushing the butterfly open with power off with my finger to clean it. I put everything back on and it ran fine. About 3 weeks later I booked it in to the mechanic for a timing belt service, because he had to order a different water pump in I suspect the power on the car has been left off for a few days, up to about 5. Now received it back off him running like shit, jerking and everything. I have been reading i could only need to do a tb reset as it’s Not in the correct spot. My men Janice gave it to another mechanic and diagnosided it as damage to the teeth of the tb. I’m not 100% convinced tho

Ok, manually adjusting the butterfly is a known cause of dbw throttle failure.

I’d recommend downloading a GenV FSM and search it for the diagnosis or reset procedure, just so you can be certain.

Otherwise eBay/wreckers looks to be a solid option, just ensure you’re covered with warranty/return/protection options.

Importmonster/yahoo.jp/croober are options from Japan for s/h goods and if the price is right, then eg ems airfreight is an option, whilst returns may not be.
https://yahoo.importmonster.com.au/yaho ... a310#26322

That’s import monster~browse yahoo auctions~automotive~car parts~part number.

Your brand/model specific FB group is another good option for reaching out with a WTB request.

Don’t forget that the range of available donor cars is a lot wider than just your car/year as I pointed out above.
That’s facelift SH Forester XT my11-13
BM/BR GT my10-11
Wrx GR/GV widebody (not STi) my11-14

And of course double check the part number regardless.

General DIY/FSM link ^

Since Ebay USA had a few examples of that throttle body, you can probably just use a GenV usdm FSM for the diagnostic info.
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/showthread.php?1 ... nuals-(FSM)-Every-Model-USDM-EU

Download it and search the document in your PDF reader, using keyword eg “throttle”.

Some sections will cover removal/install procedures, others diagnostics :)

Car runs fine.
Drop off to "mechanic".
Car runs shit after picking it up.

Tell the "mechanic" to fix it?

An expert, eg Ben Neal of Benny’s Custom Works might be able to tell you if the gen4 tb is retrofittable. Long shot tho...

I have another throttle body I got from Onboost in Sydney, now I haven’t installed it yet but it looks to be identical operation to my original one, I just plugged it in and tested it. does the new one need to be self adjusted because it’s holding the same setting as the fucked one?

The procedure if any, will be in the FSM, see above ^^^

I’d be tempted to just install it as some of these systems self calibrate eg on ecu reset.

Meaning if you pulled the battery neg, applied iirc the park brake or some other always on circuit, eg parkers etc to drain residual current...

As you should prior to messing with any major electrics on the car, then your ecu will be reset anyhow.

Things like avcs will self calibrate on the next key-on, so logically, the TB might too. Or check the FSM.

Please don’t manually adjust the new throttle body...

What did you pay roughly for the part?

That’s what I’m thinking hopefully it just needs calibrating.

The part was $250 delivered with around 50k in the clock.

I have plugged it and with power on and moved it electronically only.

I’ll be installing it 2morro afternoon so hopefully everything resets
