WTB: 07+ Lib GT Stock Airbox

Postby cpitts » Fri Oct 17, 2008 8:42 pm

As the the title says, I'm chasing a stock airbox (well just the front part actually). Doing a CAI experiment. ;)

Prefer Melb but given it's just the front half of the box, happy to pay postage from around Aus, surely wouldn't be much more than $8. :)

Anyone?

Nuuuuuuuuthin' ;)

There'll be a full write up with pictures. :-)

Lets just say I'm trying to improve throttle response before much larger airflow changes.

there's already a hint of it on his website ;-)

Trieu had one a few months ago, which I was supposed to buy but the logistics of getting it to Melbourne never worked out. He might still have it? (or not..) :)

Did some visual recon tonight in the engine bay. It would appear I can be more aggressive on this one though which may pay out some much better gains (now to find some nicely mouldable 120mm pipe

I see you've found what I emailed you about a couple of months back then Craig! :) There's a lot of space under there once you remove the resi! I was thinking of using some CAI type pipe which you can get from supercheap, or if you try places like purple pig they also sell it by the metre much cheaper.

Certainly have!! Helps when you've got an example in the garage to have snoop around in. :P

From the look of the space, some 120mm storm water and amassive flair on it should do the trick nicely, it only has to get into the wheel arch and then after that, it's feeding air in from under there somewhere. Might need to have a look at venting the wheel arch to get a bit more airflow in there though, which shouldn't be hard. A stanley and some patients is always a good start. ;)

So Trieu, that front of the airbox be able to be found or too hard basket?

I also have stock airbox and piss bottle for sale too Cpitts.

As per pm not sure if you want to organise postage for everything.

Phat had done this induction mod for sleepgtb. Remove resi then ran a pipe down to the front foglight surround. Requires modding to the front foggie surround

I was very close to doing the same but required to change to pod for the FMIC.
