WTB: Dead EJ22 G1 for mock up (south east Qld)

I am looking for a dead gen 1 block or case halves and a dead manual transmission just to use as mock ups in my EJ22 Hillman imp. I have complete engines but I am just wanting these mock up bits to be light weight for the in/out process of making the mounts and all that.... so the motor doesn't need a crank in it even, just the halves with a few bolts to hold it together would be fine.... same with the transmission.... no guts, no problem :)

If someone has a complete dead motor or gearbox kicking around, that's ok, I can lighten it. Let me know what you have and how much you are asking  I am in Landsborough on the sunshine coast, so this area down to Brissy area or up to Harvey bay would be fine....

If anyone has a GOOD running motor, I would be interested in hearing about that too :)

Thanks Billy, yes, I saw that.... in Melbourne tho.... I am just looking for sooby folks around here that might have pulled a dead one or have a couple of halves laying in the back yard somewhere where I can go pick it up. I have checked (regularly) gum tree and ebay.... but some people have funny ideas what cars are worth these days.... My blue one cost me $150 and I registered and drive it.... my white FWD cost me $80 and I sold the front bumper for $90.... So if I cant find some cases and a dead transmission for mock ups, I am always on the look out for crashed/hail damaged/rusty cars..... sooner or later one will turn up :)

Will ask at a couple of scrappies as well

Edit: If I cant see/hear an engine running, to me it is just spare parts. It is easy for anyone like on ebay to say 'it runs fine' but 10 - 1 it has head gasket issues.... or it would still be in a car. That is why I am asking on here.... maybe someone has a good engine that they really did just take out of their car to put a sti motor in or something.... but it is not worth the risk buying a motor off the garage floor from someone in Melbourne  .... the cases or dead transmission, I am just hoping someone nearby has these bits that are destined for scrap anyway.... just to help make mocking up a hand job, rather than lifting the engine/trans in and out multiple times.... as to put it in the imp, is thru the passengers door with the crane, then pick it up and position it thru the back window/hatch.... much easier by hand with out the crane with an empty block and box :)

Ok... has anyone around here got 2 halves of a motor, a couple of bolts, a sump and engine mounts.... and/or a 5 speed gen 1 box they could lend me for a few weeks?

My motors are all together and I only have the gearbox in the white car that I run every day, just so it isn't sitting and not running for long. The reason I want to get my hands on empty cases or a dead short block and gearbox case, is that the motor/trans will be put into the imp thru the passengers door.... put down, then picked up thru the back hatch, put into position.... to put in and take out a complete engine/trans lots of time will be a pain in the derierre

The bits will come back just as loaned.... they don't have to be any good.... would appreciate it :)

I have the imp on its side and all the suspension out, doing under the floor descale and prepare for underbody.... the hole is cut (roughly) for the EJ22 to poke thru.... once the underneath is done, I can put it right way up and start working on the engine mounts and cage :)

The blue XR6 Bionic color is the color the imparu will be :assassin: :)

No one? Bummer :(

The imp is coming along.... I might have to make a wooden mock up instead.... can you put the engine mounts anywhere other than in line with the back of the heads? Like, can you put mounts at the front of the engine? :?:
