WTB: Postface dash

Postby Brunsy3.0 » Tue Sep 15, 2015 5:41 pm

Hey all,

My dash is completely shot and i am on the look out for a second hand one as new will cost too much. Am getting a bit tired of seeing this dash everytime i look at the car whether im inside or out

My car is 2007 spec b. So facelift wanted as apparently there are slight differences in the clips between models. Mone has centre speaker but am not too concerned as this has been disconnected

Cheers

Brunsy

Haha bad spots

The entire dash has gone soft and cracked entirely from side to side i think id break my camera if i tried to photograph it

Once i sought a few things out ill probably put the damaged one i have in as its getting too bad at night due to glare off the shiny dash. Has put me off fibreglassing a dash though haha

I still have my old one from when I did my dash swapout if you want it. Can't ship with the airbag though, so just re-use yours (easy to pull out). The only damage to it is four plastic-welded holes on the top side of it where I'm guessing the previous owner had a GPS. The rest of the dash is fine. Note that this dash does not have the centre speaker as found in the premium audio models.

The only difference between pre and post-face was about two of the screw points on the left centre console area from memory. You could get away without them, but my OCD said "no" at the time I did mine.

What do you mean when you say left centre console area for the screws? Is it to hold the actual dash in or trim pieces?

I'm referring to the actual dash frame itself that secures to the car, not the trim that goes over it. There's a bunch of screws all around the dash and two of them down the left centre side didn't line up with the holes on the pre-facelift dash that I tried to install on my post-facelift car (everything else was fine), so I returned it to the wrecker and got a post-facelift model instead that fit perfectly first time.

If you left these two screws out, all the trim and so forth would still install over it without a problem, but I guess it might translate to more rattle noises down the track.

Appreciate the info

With flocking my dash has gone soft and it literally falling apart so not much chance of that. Also with having airbags in the dash im not sure how that would go...

Surely you guys have wrecked ones coming up on your Aussie equivalent to Trademe all the time. I know of one 20mins from me with a perfect dash i've been considering stealing for a while now since mines got a stuffed patch from the last owner trying to pull an adhesive pad, most likely from a gps/boost gauge, off.

I know im getting repetitive and annoying but still chasing a dash from a post face. My car will be getting repaired fairly soon and would love to do this at the same time to being it back to near new.
