Opposed forces.com website says that all 3.0R and 2.5L DOHC Turbo engines with the 6MT use the same starter motor.

Ben is wrecking a H6 6sp, maybe he can help?

I would be a little concerned about the reliability of a eBay unit as many parts are less than acceptable quality IMO.

What is the actual issue with yours?

It may just be full of clutch dust jamming the pinion on the ring gear. Might be worth pulling it to bits and cleaning/lubricating all parts.

Personally, it just make do with the car off the road for a few days and get yours fixed.

Cleaned it out, regreased the gears and shafts etc. Worked great for 2 days. No noise at all. Attempted to start it this evening and now the starter wont engage. Guess the solenoid finally decided to pack it in. Without a car for the week now. :(
