Pre face steering wheel..no airbag or buttons needed

Postby Brunsy3.0 » Wed Jan 14, 2015 7:33 pm

Hey All

My mates '04 GT steering wheel is destroyed. Not sure what hes been doing to it but damn its falling apart

Looking for an easy swap over so pre face is reasonable condition doesnt have to be perfect just in one piece. He has the airbag and controls in good knick just needs the actual wheel

Anyone have anything or know of a part out or wreck that I could scavenge off thatd be sweet

Cheers

Brunsy

The one im looking for just needs to be semi decent as my mates is completely falling apart literally hes not looking to spend much on one thus the search for a cheap 2nd hand. Hoping someone either upgrades or has a wreck

Do post face wheels fit? As the airbag is fine to reuse on his aswell as the buttons

post face do fit, but you need to get an auto electrician in to wire up the cruise control from the old system to the new wheel. its not as easy as plug and play...

Do the old buttons fit onto the new wheel? So keep old cruise and airbag anf buttons but swap the wheel itself out?

nope, you'll need to transfer the buttons out. I don't know about the airbag though, one would presume they would be interchangeable. the SW buttons are most likely easily swapped too though, a simple screw

I've got a space post face steering wheel

Iirc the charge can be swapped out. The airbag cover, rear cover, swc's and cruise setup are unique to each gen iirc.

I'd get an auto upholsterer to recover it if time was an issue.
