Our recently purchased MY09 Lib GT-B wgaon had pretty much a clean bill of health from a RACV inspection, except that it was noted that the spare tyre doesn't have the bolt and (i'm assuming plate) which retains it to the floor of the boot.

I haven't gone to Subaru directly because i'm sure its not worth what they want - is anyone aware of someone wrecking a Liberty (or i'd imagine any ~MY09 Subaru) which would be willing to donate this mechanism.

See if you can find someone parting out a wreck and get it from them. Half a dozen liberties been wrecked on gumtree at the moment.
