Hi, I have recently purchased an 04 GT Liberty.
Would like to fit the Satnav system.
Does anybody have one for sale or know where I can get one from?

Yes it does,
I have just been looking in to it a bit more, and it probably is the better option, would have more features.
So from what I have read the easiest way to hook up to the factory mcintosh is via the aux input? Is there an aux input in the back of the unit?

I would also like bluetooth connectivity for phone calls, is there a tablet that I can do this with?

There is so much reading to do here:

The best option for audio is to use a DAC for premium audio quality. Use that in conjunction with an FSL-21 or similar for aux in. The Nexus 7 has Bluetooth but it only works with other android devices.

There is so much reading - It's burning my brain. I'm not much of a computer person so I'm finding it a little hard to understand some of it.
I have no problem with the install and wiring etc in the car, but the tablet talk and connections are all new to me.
So is the dac a unit to connect from usb to stereo with higher quality?
and the fsl-21 a cable to connect from the dac to aux?
Thanks for your help.
Out of curiosity is there anyone/ any shops that do tablet installs?

I've done the exact install in the thread provided so ask away mate. The hardest part for me was Android because I'm an iOS man.

The DAC (specifically a Behringer UCA202) takes audio from the tablet through the Y cable (USB) which connects to the FSL-21 via a 2 channel RCA cable which in turn connects to your McIntosh.

Edit - and I doubt you'd find a shop that will do it for a reasonable price.

Ok, so I take it there is no rca inputs in the back of the head unit, and the fsl-21 is to go from rca to a plug which suits the head unit? Where can I get an FSL-21?
I found the Behringer uca202 on ebay. but not sure where to get the fsl-21.
Thanks again.

Can I ask what type of tablet you have used? Or what do you recommend?

Sorry but I have never owned a tablet or looked into them, Do I need to buy one that takes a sim card for the data to run apps, nav etc?
Can you just get prepaid sim for it?

Just noticed from reading up that you are using wifi through your phone, I would rather have a tablet with its own cnnection, so I just have to buy one that is 3g capable with a sim?

Just read most of the thread about it all and have a couple more questions.
- The tablet requires rom flashing so that it will play audio via the usb? how do you go about flashing it?
- The y-cable is required for charge input and audio output from the same connector to the tablet?
- how is an external hd connected?
If possible could you show me a diagram of how yours is all connected.
Just trying to get my head around it all before I start buying bits and pieces.

I've got a factory sat nav system for an 03-06 Lib.

I bought it for my '08 but I can't find the required 20 PIN plug I need for it to be compatible with my facelift model, so I'm going to abandon the project.

PM if interested. Located in Sydney.
