Hey All

I have a 2007 spec B H6 and am looking to change the silver audio and cruise control switches to black buttons

if anyone has an old steering wheel they are looking to sell or whether they are willing to swap me for my silver switches that would also work for me

a big ask I know but I will get some oneday

I believe these are on STI steering wheels? correct me if I am wrong

I don't need the surrounds to be silver simply the actual buttons as mine are now painted so white background with silver buttons looks a little out of place as the rest of the silver has been removed

THIS IS WHAT I CURRENTLY HAVE

Imagecheers

THIS IS SIMILAR TO WHAT I WISH TO GET

the buttons would be an absolute pain to try to paint I dont think my spraypainter would want any part of that mask up

I have already painted the surrounds, I simply want the buttons to be black with white symbols

Forester (Impreza too?) last gen had black if that's any help to your search for them. They also have a slightly different feel.

They have more of a matte feel. It's a nicer feel, it's only minor to be honest, but something I noticed.

By the way, not sure if the actual buttons and what they do in the Forester are exactly the same, I just know that they had black buttons.

I may even have to turn to Subaru to source these in the end, wont be a cheap way around it but a way indeed

I'm looking to do this myself, but I'll buy the whole part, not just the buttons. If I can't find a complete STi wheel (I want the airbag cover) :P

I think that colour will match the interior trim on the STi models quite nicely :)

seems fairly consistent for Subaru's pricing I suppose

im almost thinking of putting an EOI on a set of silver SWC incase someone is looking for a set, and can put blue led's in there if they so wish also, but I don't think they would be very highly sort after

well you definitely proved me wrong, haha, I will have to put an EOI up over the weekend and see if there are any bites, then ill have to source a whole set of switches in black and then swap the backs over as I have already painted mine

Why not try gently rubbing back the silver paint on the buttons and or covers with some prepsol and or wet n dry paper?

I"m going to go to Subaru this week (hopefully) and try to get a part number for the current model STi buttons. They're the 6 button audio ones we need so hopefully they're a simple swap over.

How are you going to paint the buttons Ben? You'd just cover up the light/symbols?
