Used semi slicks

As title states after a set for my stock 17" GT rims for one track day, I wouldn't usually go for second handies but this will be my first track day, just want to check it out before committing to a new set.

Cheers, Chook.

Might be worth while getting on FleeBay is you're looking for something cheap.

Alternatively, R spec's in a 225/40 17 are generally pretty affordable new... Just need to steer clear of brands like Dunlop, etc.

Would suggest looking at Toyo R888's :)

If you're doing it for fun buy the cheapest set of used street tyres (something decent still) that you can tear up. Won't be anywhere near as fast but you'll have so much more fun tearing them apart than spending all day trying to get the temperatures and pressures right in semi slicks :)

Cheers Matt I had a quick search on eBay a few good options but still a little out of my tight arse price range, I'm about to get a set of Federal RSRs for my Enkies so as Daniel suggested I might just trash the good year eagle f1s on my stockies at the moment.

Cheers, Chook.

Still need to adjust pressures no matter what type of tyres you're running on the track. Heaps of heat = higher pressures.

True, just noticed everyone on semis was struggling to get them to work properly as they're less tolerant than road tyres. Meanwhile my tyres were great fun, reaching their limits constantly :P
