WTB: HD rear sway bar mounts

Postby paggaz » Wed Mar 13, 2013 1:04 pm

Wondering if there's a secondhand pair of HD rear sway bar mounts floating around for a good price. Not really fussed on brand - AVO or Cusco are the only ones I've heard of.

If I can't source anything, I'll either be making custom ones or hitting up G88.

I'm also keen on a set but from the pics they look so simple to fabricate, if you know anyone how can get us some accurate measurements I can knock us up a few sets!!

They are definitely not hard bit of kit to DIY. I was supposed to make myself some while I was back home but I'm back at uni so I have limited time and tools to use. I'll ask around for some measurements :)

Just noticed that you have an upgraded rear swaybar installed on yours Cam. No problems with the stock mounts breaking or cracking? How long have they been on there?

Sounds good mate, I might even get a bit itchy and install my new swaybar without the HD mounts...just for now.

I've got some AVO mounts sitting in my cupboard atm if you want some info from them... I don't know if you're thinking of them or the Cusco, as they are a totally different design.

I seem to remember the AVO ones actually looked a bit stronger than the Cusco mounts, if you could shoot me through some pics and specs that would be freakin awesome. :D

If you are making them yourself it will be easier to make a replica of the cusco ones as they are just a plate of metal that has been bent.

The avo ones have the cylinder part to them.

[edit] as pictured above.

It's pretty straight forward making either and I definitely like the AVO ones more having now refreshed my memory, did the AVO's come supplied with longer bolts and the rubber bushes or just the brackets? Cheers for the pics

It's just the orange bracket I'm pretty sure, I bought mine second hand so couldn't tell you.

Fantastic now just need some measurements, hole centers, plate thickness, hole diameters, pipe wall thickness and outside diameter, center of pipe to center of slotted holes, center of pipe to back side of plate and the most important part, what colour people would like them powder coated, cusco blue, ken block green or whiteline silver.

If I had vernier calipers I'd be your man. I don't know that my average tape measure will be up to the task..

A trusty rule and some accurate eye sight is all you need, I know it's a bit of an ask but there would be a whole heap of good Karma's coming your way hehe!
