Missed out on a Liberty GT recently so im keen to hunt down another preferrably in Black and Auto but im open to others. Im located in Melbourne. Let me know if your keen to sell or know someone who is!

You do know tbSTI are as rare as hen's teeth right?

If one pops up, the correct steps is as follows:

1. Get it first, definitely pay a deposit;
2. Think about whether you want a tbSTI;
3. Ask the "boss" whether you can get one;
4. Ask for forgiveness if permission is not granted;
5. Think about finance;
6. Enjoy your new car.

If you do any of the other steps (2-5) first, you can forget about step 1 & step 6.

I am only just realising how rare they are now! Which makes me want one even more.

I got finance covered and the "boss" is ok as long and she gets her Mini Cooper S. So im ready to roll ! So waiting for the right car

Is Sydney too far to go looking at one. With Jetstar flights at $35 to Sydney for some flights on sale. Perhaps a weekend in Sydney with the view to look at a couple of cars might be a goer. The labour day long weekend is coming up.

When I was looking there were only 2 in Melbourne. And given their cost to buy new most people who bought them were either via company leases so were fully maintained or enthusiasts who were pretty sensible and didn't thrash them.

There are also a couple of nice ones in South Australia at the moment if a Labour Day long weekend in SA is more to your liking.

You could be waiting for ages otherwise.

Was in the middle of negotiating a trade in and shipping down from NSW but someone jumped the gun ahead of me and snapped her up. The wait continues.

When I test drove the car I ended up buying I went in to negotiate the price. After signing it up I went back out to look at the car again. Whilst out there, a couple of guys were also looking at it and were also thinking of buying.

On the day of pickup I checked carsales and a manual wagon had just been listed. I rang the dealership at 9:00am, opening time, to advise them when I would be in and asked about the wagon. It was already sold. And the ad was off carsales at 10:00am. A good one of these sells very quickly.

Goodluck with your search, seem to very few around in Victoria.

The black one in SA is pretty negotiable on price, was going to have a look at it but I preferred my silver one.

Finance settled ! Thew new Liberty STi is on her way down to melbourne hopefully this week ! Finally !
