Seems I've somehow done a rear drive shaft. The boot has been worn through and dust/dirt has entered and is causing issues
Rather than a dodgy rebuild and rip-off Subaru spare parts, I'm hoping someone is wrecking a GenIV or maybe has one.
Happy to come and remove it from the car if need be.
