new to all this and just starting to want to put a bit of work into my liberty .
first things first upgrade the sound system , at the moment im still using the intergrated stock headunit & ive just tapped into the wires and whatnot .
but im looking for Double Din Facia kit , in siver. anyone know prices & where i could get them ?

japanparts or avo can do them. Check that it suits your AC - single or dual zone, different AC controller. Kit should come with aerial adapter, as Suby dont use std ones.
You will need an Aerpro harness adapter. Get the latest HU you can afford - DVD capable, ipod, aux in, gps etc.

how will I know if it suits my AC if I order it online & receive it ? is it possible for me to send things back to people ? :/ I'm abit used to shopping in store but can't find these around here anywhere . I wanna do it soon but need to get a bit of cash up for a decent HU .

If you don't have the cash for a new HU yet, be patient.. Email PHAT what you want, tell him the colour and whether you have dual zone, single zone AC and he will get you what you need

He will quote you an accurate figure, but if you look at avojdm or japanparts it will be cheaper than that including freight

i have a 04 liberty GT with mcintosh 13 speaker system i was told i pretty much cant change this system without changing the entire car. is this true and if so what alternatives do i have apart from aux in to the factory deck?

Well what exactly do you want to change..?
I wouldn't go as far as saying you have to change the whole car. The main issues are you need a headunit double din fascia to fit an aftermarket headunit (~$400) and the stock headunit runs an amplifier under the passenger seat which makes it a little more difficult to 'plug and play' your new aftermarket headunit, compared to other cars..

Both these issues aren't overly hard to overcome to be honest..

In a nutshell: it's not simple, definitely not plug and play. And for what it's worth, you might aswell upgrade the amplifier while you're at it.

If you're happy with the way the stock stereo sounds i'd be more inclinded to invest in a good aux input, will be a hell of alot cheaper than new headunit+ fascia+ wiring in stock amp to new headunit.
