2008 Tuned by STI Front Strut Bar

Postby cholmes1 » Tue Aug 30, 2011 6:05 am

Hello,

I currently live in Chicago,IL and am looking for the strut tower bar from an 08 tbSTI. It would be round with the flex rubber bit in the middle and the STI badging. I have searched google to the 'nth degree and cannot find where you guys would buy your parts at...

If someone has one they are willing to ship to the states I am happy to talk OR if someone want to point me to an Australian Subaru Parts sales department that would also work.

I have had a few parts shipped from Oz with a pleasent exchange each time. Way easier to work with actual people and standard mail than Japan Parts and air freight for something so small.

Feel free to shoot me an email as well at charlesholmes33@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Charles

Japan Parts does have the bar but they are asking over $400 before shipping. I also exchanged emails with PhatGT and he is also over $400. I am more interested in a gently used one or from someone who is swapping theres out for whatever reason.

Thanks for the feedback,
Charles

I did see that as well, but unfortunately I am trying to only have 2008 parts on my car. Since our emissions policies make anything worth driving from Japan illegal in the states, it is my aim to duplicate the Liberty tbSTI as close as I can. It will be a lengthy and expensive process but it is the car I like the best in the Subaru lineup so that is what I am trying to locate parts for...

Mine is a liberty sti too...there is not a great deal of difference between the 07 and 08 sti, mainly just the look of the strut brace, the gear shift, ,the sill plates and black brembos instead of gold...

Thanks for the feedback thus far. I am pretty set on the 08 STI sturt bar. Not really a fan of the 07 flat bar, nothing too unique about that one and since it is a complementary part to the suspension I believe it should be somewhat unique. I highly doubt anyone is getting rid of one any time soon and I am in no rush so let the debate continue.

Best,
Charles
