WTB: A cheap set of splits

Postby garbo41610 » Tue Mar 22, 2011 6:23 pm

Hi all,

I'm just getting to the final (pfft, yeah right!) stages of the budget stereo install in my Sherpa. I bought a set of crappy 2-way Pioneer coaxials for the front mounted in some fibreglass pods, but I am thinking splits may be the way to go. So I am just putting it out there to see if anyone has a set of 6.5" splits laying around they don't need. FYI, I'll be feeding them either 125wRMS or 150wRMS

Let me know,

G
Car(s): Steel Silver MY10 GT Wagon + 1985 Subaru Sherpa

Mods: (GT) HKS Panel Filter. The HKS I put in the MY10 is the same filter I took out of my MY05 GT. So yes, they do fit. Custom leather heel pad to minimise carpet wear in the drivers footwell. Slotted front rotors. (Sherpa) 14'' 6 Spoke mags, Chrome Gear Shift (sick!), Alloy Pedals (sicker!), new positive and negative battery terminals, Alpine cda-9827 H/U, JBL GT 6x9's boxed and mounted (sickest!), Kicker DS650.2 component speakers mounted in the footwells in flibreglass pods, Alpine MRP-F200 4 channel amp (4x40wRMS), Rebadged with hektik chrome eBay badges, STi stickers for more powaaaa, "leather" handbrake boot, recarpetted with grey/black car carpet from Bunnings, sick Clarke Rubber boot mat, polished and waxed.

I have one set of brand new Alpine Typre R 6.5" splits left from my previous build... I think you know the quality of these... $200.00 and they could be yours... Cost me $499.00... Cheers, Nick

Thanks mate but a little out of my price range. The head unit was $50, the JBL 6 x 9's were $60 and the Pioneer 6.5'' coax's were about $65, 1 of the 2 x 2 channel amps was $50 (the other was however about $400 but that was used to run 2 x 12'' JL Audio 12w3's in my old car lol).

When I say budget install, I really mean budget lol ( )
