Seriously dude... caps lock is not required!

If you want the built in GPS along with the factory Mcintosh stereo system, then yes you will need to get the Subaru unit. I'm not sure if the factory GPS is compatible with a reversing camera though?

BOV's are fairly easy, do a search on the forums as to different ones that people are running... but it is essentially just noise, and considering you bought an auto, not sure you're going to get the noise you're after?

sorry about the CAPS....i just drove 10hrs from melbounre to sydney and was just a mess.

hey jimmy,
thanks for the reply.

it has the mcintosh stereo system.
so im assuming that there is ony type of onboard gps uint and that i have to get from subaru correct?
thats a shame pirce wise cause its a rip off IMO.....
do i also have to get the reverse camera and sensors from subary? or can i get them else where?

in regards to the blow off valvue, without trying to be/sound like a comeplte douche bag i just love the noise it makes and as long as i can hear it ill be happy.
i get the point your making as in if it was manual you can redline 1st gear and back off and it will chssssssssss.....
in an auto you cant really do that so it wont do it the same although i should still find something to make me happy right?

From someone who has the factory Sat nav system I would honestly say please don't. It's simply not good enough to warrant $2.5k.

For $2.5k you could get a facia, and a great quality head deck with updatable maps.

+1 The standard unit is looking more and more dated, Quality deck would be a much better option although the position of the standard GPS is better.

What do you mean updatable maps? Of corse we can get updatable maps for factory unit :?

I agree that the style of the OSD is getting a little outdated, but it looks so much neater than an aftermarket AND you get the acc%, inst fuel and ave fuel aswell as maintenance reminders, calenders, calculators etc.

Thats said i wouldnt pay the $2500 on top of the car...thats why i bought one with it already in it 8)

For $250 or $350 whatever to purchase new maps (that are still two years old) vs the ability to download new maps every few months with an aftermarket one.
