Looks good, although sounds insanely loud which is a shame. You could always try a K2 centre if you have the money for it.

Can you get a picture of the muffler body please, wouldn't mind seeing it.
Also in the first picture the left tip on the left side seems to be touching the body??

I think to make it look right, the OUTER, tips need to be shorter than the inner ones. Not by much though. Still looks and sounds great despite how loud it appears.

Can you get a picture of the muffler body please, wouldn't mind seeing it - - - sure I'll post it up asap

Also in the first picture the left tip on the left side seems to be touching the body - - - the rubber mounts might need to be changed....kinda swaying around....plus might need to re heat the hangers to make them shift abit to the right...it's only the left side that is touching...

i agree.....then it would look like my STI mufflers but on steroids.....and IF ONLY they were half as quiet.....

most likely going to take them off and put my STI mufflers back on ....or i was thinking of trying a pair of HKS silent ? or ES premium.....to be honest...i'm confused....

If you're keen on these mufflers and their looks and have a bit of dough, try another set of centre pipes as Kieran suggested. I suspect the XForce centre pipe may be 3"? If so, that's going to be very loud. Try reducing it to a 2.5" or even 2.25". You should see noise levels drop to a more tolerable level. That's what I did when I had a 3" setup which I found to be too loud at my age (I's old! :D ). Otherwise the no cost option is going back to the STi's, but you'll lose a lot note but still have to deal with a 3" centre which is still going to be loud.

Jim, what size does the PHAT DP adaptor fit on to on the centre pipe? Is the stock 2.25" at that point?

I guess I will need to know in the future for when I get my K2 centre.

Also jaydece, when I said the K2 is expensive....I'm not kidding. Centre + Y is like $1500 I think?

I just joined up to comment on the install, I wasn't too impressed with the lower dump fittings. It is supplied with two different flanges and a clamp, one to fit the stock system and a 3 inch one for aftermarket ones. I would suggest welding these on if you can (like I did), otherwise it may leak.

The spring tension bolts on the flange don't seem to work well and its leaking on this install, I will need to refit it using standard bolts and see if there is a better seal on the front flange.

Personally I would rather make the system from scratch as there are much better lines to take under the car, and larger piping can easily be used. A bigger centre muffler is definitely required and the Magnaflow muffler body's are just too small to take out much noise. I will try and fit the stock mufflers for you tomorrow mate.

Sorry I should have been more specific.

A picture from a lower height (in line with the tips) from the back of the car, just to see how big the muffler body / how far it hangs down.
Thanks for the other pics though :)

Is there any difference in size or design of the phat quads for wagons, or is it just longer tips?
I wonder if you could just get the tips shortened :)
But of course I'm only after the mufflers anyway so never mind

HEADS UP EVERYONE... will be removing my magnaflow mufflers in about 2 - 3 weeks time to replace it with the X FORCE VAREX VMK7-250 mufflers.

I bought the magnaflows brand new about 2 months ago for $300 each plus shipping costs, these costs do not include all the modifications made to make them fit on my liberty.

The mufflers are basically ready to be bolted on, might need slight adjustment and hanger relocation depending on y pipe applications.

some info: -

Magnaflow 14815 Exhaust Muffler Product Specs

o 2.25" Inlet
o 3" Dual Tip
o 7" Tip Length
o 5x8 Oval Body
o 2" Dual Core Size

my asking price is $300.00 each negotiable.....I'm prepared to sell them separately as long as there are 2 buyers.
