Try a quote from Ashley at Makin & Luby. You may need a late model Wrx or STi vin.

I was planning on just walking into a dealership, if they need a VIN I can just point to one of the display models :P

I can find the part number for the silver ones online but nothing for the black 08+ STi ones :(

Here's the 6 button SWC's I'm after in black :)
Part number is:

83154YC060

Edit: it's a little different again: has a phone answer button instead of mute...

http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin ... ost61.html

Looking like the right one for my07 :)

83154AG001

Try eBay, Subaru genuine parts or fredbeans parts online...

So if anyone has that set and needs the 5 button set with the phone controls on the 3 button lower left side pad I'm up for swapping. Otherwise mine works great with just the covers and buttons swapped.

Great links from grand master svxdc :)

BBB, double check before you order 83154AG001 as I 'think' that's what we have already (silver). It's just the photos and the lighter wheel that guy installs it on that make it look darker but everywhere else returns the standard controls for the Liberty.

The one you have fitted to yours Ben I believe is 83154FG090 which is for the NON sat nav WRX/STi models whereas 83154FG060 should be what we need and is from any 08+WRX/STi with the sat nav system, it has the 6 buttons and mute image as pictured in my last comment. I have no idea about wiring though but I have checked it comes as a pair for both sides :)

I got a price from Subaru locally, $245... Best online so far has been $118 delivered so I'm just waiting to make sure it's available before I order :)

I've spent more time looking into this than uni work today... Got to love procrastination :P

Is that from the states? If so could you let me know when you find out as i'd like to have them del to an address locally over there to save some postage. Double checking, these are just the buttons, not the surrounds?

Should be buttons, surrounds switches and harness, plug n play for compatible models.

Thanks Daniel, the plot thickens!

Not from the states but postage was like $13. But I've sent some emails to a few places that deal with genuine parts to get prices (and postage to Aus) to see if any come up better while I await a response.

I'll report back with the best price I get but I'm keeping my source quiet for now in case stock is limited :P

It should be as BBB said. Ie item 4 in this picture. I'm too lazy to look at wiring so can't comment on 'plug and play' but worst case is it doesn't work and I just swap the covers over like BBB :)

Ordered some. $130 AU delivered which I'm happy with. Stock is a little hard to get and there's only 11 sets in the US at the moment so the place I bought them from had to order them in as their warehouse didn't have any.

I got them from https://www.partswebsite.com/subarugenuineparts/

FWIW, I put a set of these (#83154FG060) in the wife's car this arvo. Took maybe 1/2hr - then another 5 mins to take the wheel back off and actually centre the steering wheel...
It's plug and play.
I didn't disconnect the air bag nor the negative battery terminal, not saying anyone else should not disconnect those things.

2 crappy pictures, daylight and night.
